Sharing the gospel isn’t complicated.

How often do your friends come to you with a problem? Maybe they’re hurting and just need someone to listen. You can’t fix their past or change the outcome of every bad decision or circumstance, but you can point them to the One who promises hope for the future.

The reality is that God has a design for our lives, but we live in a broken world where we make sinful choices that leave us in need of a Savior. Becoming a Christian doesn’t automatically erase our past hurts and scars, but it does offer relief from our brokenness through repentance. When Christ died in our place on the cross, He took the penalty that we deserve for our sins. He was resurrected, and in turn we are given new life when we believe in Him. Through God’s grace we are able to start over and pursue His design for our lives — from wherever we are.

In this 6-session Bible study, Pastor Jimmy Scroggins will walk students through the 3 Circles evangelism strategy to help them discover just how simple sharing the gospel can be.

Video Sessions

• Session 1: God’s Design (7:17)—Our study starts with the reality that God has a design. In fact, we can clearly see from Genesis 1-2 that He has a design for all of creation. He created all things on purpose and for a purpose.
• Session 2: Sin (7:15)—The Bible has a number of different words for sin—iniquity, transgression, rebellion. In its simplest form, sin is defined as missing the mark. It is missing the mark of God’s standard that is based on His character. It is failing to bring Him glory in the things we do.
• Session 3: Brokenness (5:55)—God has a design for every part of life. When sin causes us to depart from that design we end up in the reality of brokenness. We live in a world filled with brokenness. Brokenness is the byproduct of sin. It is the consequence of our personal sin, the sin of others, and the sin that surrounds us in a broken world.
• Session 4: Repent & Believe (6:48)—When we depart from God’s design and end up in brokenness, we have a choice to make. We can try to fix it ourselves or we can choose to turn from our own ways and trust in God’s way to provide healing.
• Session 5: The Gospel (8:05)—The gospel is not only our way into the Christian life, it is also the good news we need each day as we face trials. The gospel reminds us that we, in and of ourselves, are unable to fix the brokenness that we and others have caused. It reminds us that true and lasting change must come from God Himself.
• Session 6: Recover & Pursue (5:49)—Everyone loves a do-over. When we sin, we are thankful God offers us do-over after do-over. We fall, but we get back up with the help of the Holy Spirit and our church family. The Holy Spirit is always there to help us recover and pursue God’s design.
