Video Sessions:

• Session 1: Introduction (16:45)—In the Session 1 video, Courtney lays the foundation for this study of Romans by reminding us that we study the Scripture not to just be informed, but to be transformed. She challenges us to not be passive learners, but fully engaged to get the most out of the study.
• Session 2: It's All About the Gospel (25:05)—Courtney begins the Session 2 teaching by emphatically pointing us to the focus of Romans: the gospel. She'll share how Paul is set apart by it, how the church is to be united around it, and how Romans 1:16-17 is the core of the gospel.
• Session 3: No One Righteous (24:51)—The Session 3 teaching is hard-hitting. Courtney will share how Paul uses the first part of the letter to show how sin is real, universal, and serious. And how all of us, no matter who we are or where we come from are eternally affected by it.
• Session 4: The Greatest News of All Time (26:52)—Following the difficult teaching of Session 3 comes the glorious news of "But God" in Session 4. Courtney shares that though we are condemned by our sin, God, in His grace, has made a way for us to be righteous through faith in Christ.
• Session 5: Dead to Sin (25:14)—In the Session 5 teaching, Courtney reminds us that in Christ we are new creations and have been set free from sin's bondage. However, we still struggle with temptation to sin. But she challenges us to remember that because we've been set free from the penalty and power of sin, we no longer have to practice sin.
• Session 6: The Son and Spirit Intercede (26:25)—Courtney's teaching in Session 6 focuses on the profound truths in Romans 8. She primarily discusses the work of the Son and Spirit in praying for us—helping us in our weakness and interceding for us before the Father.
• Session 7: Bursting Forth with Praise (25:54)—The focus of the Session 7 video teaching is the beautiful benediction found at the end of Romans 11. Courtney unpacks several phrases in verses 33-36 that point to the greatness of God and how the proper response to His greatness is awe, wonder, and praise.
• Session 8: Understanding the Battle (27:34)—Courtney reminds us in the Session 8 teaching that with Romans 12, Paul has turned the corner from talking about what we should believe to what we should do. She focuses in on the verses 1-2 and challenges us to respond to the mercies of God by living transformed lives.
• Session 9: The Mission (27:10)—In this closing teaching, Courtney makes us confront the question "What do I do know?" She points out that this great gospel Paul wrote about and we've studied is not to be kept under wraps. It is to be shared! And we're the ones who are to share it.
