God has Created Us for a Life of Personal Holiness

Every day we are invited into a world where we can create, customize, and even change our identity. This is evidenced in the filters available to us on social media, as well as in how we can change our appearances through the clothing, hair, and makeup industries. We are bombarded with mixed messages and become consumers in a culture that tells us we can have whatever we want whenever we want it.

Speaking directly to the hearts of girls, Authentic Love: Christ, Culture, and the Pursuit of Purity exposes culture’s distorted messages about purity and love and reveals how God has created us for a life of personal holiness. Over the course of eight sessions, girls will examine attributes of holiness that shape our identity. They will be challenged to reject the self-serving influences of culture and embrace what it means to pursue holiness and reflect the character of Christ.

Video Sessions

• Session 1: The Best Possible You (7:41)—Author and girls minister Amy-Jo Girardier teaches girls that the way to discover the best possible version of themselves is through a relationship with Christ.
• Session 2: Our Identity in Christ (6:48)—Amy-Jo addresses the distinction between who or what culture tells girls they need to be versus who God says they are.
• Session 3: Forgiveness and Redemption (7:12)—Amy-Jo encourages girls to imagine a “before and after” picture of their life and teaches that through forgiveness and redemption Jesus makes each of us a new creation.
• Session 4: What Does Love Look Like? (8:51)—In this session girls learn that God is the author and perfector of love, and we must look to Him for our definition of what love is.
• Session 5: What Is Humility? (6:49)—Amy-Jo helps girls identify ways they can begin to exchange pride for humility.
• Session 6: Surrender to Self-Sacrifice (9:12)—Amy-Jo teaches that self-sacrifice requires a daily surrender of our plans and dreams to God’s plans and His will for our lives.
• Session 7: Running the Race (8:43)—As believers we find our strength and endurance in Jesus. Amy-Jo encourages girls to find accountability and encouragement from others who are walking with Christ.
• Session 8: Biblical Womanhood (6:53)—In this final session, Amy-Jo explores God’s plan and how He has uniquely designed us as girls and women.
