Breakout Sessions

  • Devotionals are intended to guide readers to know God. But too often, writers focus on a story or the application they want to see practiced by their readers before studying Scripture. In this interactive experience, you will use tools that put Scripture first, learn tips for writing devotionals, and work on your writing. Bring your Bible and pen!

  • What is emotional intelligence (EQ)? It is the ability to identify and manage your own emotions and the emotions of those you interact with. Learning more about emotional intelligence can help you develop skills that will strengthen your leadership and ministry. When you develop the ability to be aware of your emotions and express them in healthy ways, you have greater relational skills professionally and personally.

  • As a collection of inspired Hebrew prayers and hymns, the book of Psalms is one of most loved portions of the Bible. But how do these words spoken to God function as a word from God to us today? How do they help us to express ourselves to God and consider His ways? In this breakout, we will dive deeper in the Psalms to challenge the heart and the mind.

  • You have heard it said, “Begin with the end in mind?” As we lead with the end goal of finishing well, there are certain leadership lessons that will help us stay the course such as avoiding burnout, overlooking the opinions of others, and making the most of every opportunity. Learn how to lead well as you reach for the finish line. (Hebrews 12:1)

  • You may question if you are up to the task of leading women. You, like me, may identity with Moses’ response when God called him to lead the Israelites, “Who am I that I should go?” (Exodus 3: 11a) You can be confident that God has not made a mistake when He called you to lead. Learn how to overcome feelings of inadequacy and lead with confidence. God has chosen you to lead for such a time as this!

  • What does the Bible have to say about spiritual warfare? As a Christian and women’s leader, you operate in the midst of a battle. The Bible tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. (Ephesians 6:12) Learn what the Bible teaches about our enemy Satan, his tactics, and our means for victory.

  • Transformational leaders unselfishly inspire others and grow alongside those they serve. A survey of the Book of Hebrews will show how Christ modeled transformational leadership by valuing others and earning the trust of those that followed him. Learn the characteristics of transformational leaders and discover how to lead groups that exceed goals and expectations.

  • God calls all believers to share the Gospel, but the word evangelism can be intimidating. We will start with the Great Commission and celebrate the numerous ways we can participate in the ministry of evangelism. We will correct common myths and leave equipped with tools to share the Gospel in places God has called us.

  • Regardless of your life season or age, most of us would agree that there are not enough hours in the day. In this session, we will read Old and New Testament Scriptures to learn what God says about rest and Sabbath. We will discuss spiritual fatigue and identify ways to combat it through the practice of spiritual disciplines.

  • Discipling the next generation doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating. Let’s learn how God desires to use your story, your time, your gifts, and even your flaws to be an effective disciple-maker. Come discover why the next generation needs you and how you need them.

  • Idolatry isn’t confined to the Old Testament. Not only is it a struggle for us as leaders, but our teens battle it as well. In this session, we’ll discuss the idols teenagers are facing. We’ll discover how to help our teens identify their own idols and how to break free from them while living in the midst of culture.
