About this Item
Overview
Grace. It’s a word we hear often and a concept we value. But how do you explain it? It’s more than a tried-and-true cliché or a catchy phrase in a worship song. It’s more than what God gives; it’s who He is. It originates with Him and overflows from His character. Amazing, isn’t it?
In this 7-session Bible study, Whitney Capps will examine passages throughout the Bible to explore the transformative power of grace. We’ll see how grace shows up in every season of our stories and is active in every area of our lives as followers of Christ. We’ll dive deep into the multifaceted beauty of God’s grace: grace that saves us, grace that grows us in Christ, and grace that sustains us through the darkest valleys. We’ll be reminded that grace is not only something we receive, but it’s something we extend. Come learn to receive grace fully, live it freely, and share it boldly, experiencing the sweet sound of grace as it flows through you.

Video Sessions:
- Session One: Introduction (20:48)—The first video session is a beautiful interview-driven documentary of Whitney’s cancer journey. In the conversations with Whitney and her family, friends, and medical staff, we’ll hear how the goodness of God and His people has been a shining light in this dark season. We’ll clearly see that this story is not about Whitney, but about the God who has walked with her and her family and how His grace has been an ever-present melody in their journey. This video sets the stage for the study, inviting us to a fresh view and life-changing understanding of God’s amazing grace.
- Session Two: The God of Grace (21:25)—In the Session 2 teaching video, Whitney walks through Moses’ encounter with God in Exodus 3 to show that grace is not merely something God gives—it is who He is. We’ll be challenged to see interruptions as invitations and trust that God’s presence is enough.
- Session Three: Grace That Saves (27:28)—In Session 3, Whitney digs into 1 John 5 to help us recognize the confidence believers can have in the grace that saves. She examines three markers of a life changed by Christ—right belief, loving obedience, and persevering faith—so we can better understand what it means to know we belong to Him.
- Session Four: Grace That Sanctifies (21:48)—Under the theme of grace that sanctifies, Whitney challenges us in Session 4 to make sure our lives are gospel-centered, not merely gospel adjacent. She helps us understand that being sanctified doesn’t mean pursuing “our best lives,” but means we die to self to become more like Jesus every day.
- Session Five: Grace That Sustains (15:59)—The Session 5 video teaching focuses on Romans 8, as Whitney shows us how God’s sustaining grace meets us in suffering and forms us more deeply into the image of Jesus. We see how familiar promises like Romans 8:28, are not just quick comfort for hard circumstances, but hope-filled invitations to trust that our good is bound up in God’s glory.
- Session Six: Grace for One Another (28:36)—In Session 6, Whitney looks at part of Luke 2 to examine how biblical community becomes a grace-filled gift for the people of God. Through Mary and Elizabeth’s story, Whitney invites us to see how trusted friends can help reframe our hardest stories, remind us of God’s faithfulness, and strengthen us to steward what we’ve been given for His glory.
- Session Seven: Grace for the World (25:26)—In the final video teaching, Whitney spotlights our need to express grace not only to those in our community of faith, but to the lost and hurting world outside the church. She unpacks Jesus’s conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4, to show how we can share the gospel and what should happen when we do. We’ll be challenged to be grace givers who courageously sing the melody of grace to a world that needs Jesus.
