The Good News of the Trinity

What's the best news you've ever heard?

Most of us wouldn't answer, "God is Trinity." We affirm it, but we file it under mysterious, academic, or irrelevant to everyday life. Nearly every evangelical confesses the Trinity, yet many use Trinitarian words without understanding the Trinity. If we get the Trinity wrong, we get the gospel wrong.

In The Good News of the Trinity, pastor and theologian J.T. English shows that the Trinity isn't on the margins of the gospel. The Trinity is the gospel. From beginning to end the Christian life is grounded in the Trinity. That means salvation doesn't rest on trying harder, sinning less, or feeling more deeply. It rests on who God is.

Part 1 introduces the basics of the Trinity: The Father who welcomes us into His family, the Son who accomplishes our victory and grants an inheritance, and the Spirit who enlivens and empowers the Christian life. Part 2 shows how the triune God reshapes the Christian life: He speaks in Scripture, hears our prayers, gathers His church, and sends us on mission.

With discussion questions at the end of every chapter, this book is for everyday Christians, small groups, and churches who want to move from knowing about God to enjoying Him.
