- Session 1: Created in His Image: Imago Dei (24:16)—Join Lisa Whittle as she introduces a whole body theology—a biblical belief system of God's creation of us as an entire person, body and soul. In this first video, Lisa explains whole body theology, giving a glimpse of where the study is headed throughout the six weeks. She also teaches on the image of God. Each of us bears the image of our Creator, and that has major implications for how we think about our bodies.
- Session 2: Soul to Soul (05:15)—In these Soul to Soul videos, Lisa shares straight from her heart about the week's personal study.
- Session 2: Created for Relationship: The Incarnation (19:12)—In this teaching session, Lisa explores how the incarnation—Jesus's coming to earth as both God and Man—shapes our own whole body theology. What does it mean that Jesus was fully God and fully Man? Why did He choose to take on flesh and dwell among us? How does that form our views of our own bodies? We'll begin to navigate these questions and more in the teaching.
- Session 3: Soul to Soul (05:49)—In these Soul to Soul videos, Lisa shares straight from her heart about the week's personal study.
- Session 3: Created for Reliance: The Crucifixion (26:09)—What does Jesus's death on the cross have to do with our body struggles? Lisa answers that question in this teaching session. Through Jesus's crucifixion, we learn reliance on Him for our salvation but also for our everyday struggles with our bodies. We live in the reality of "it is finished" and "in the process" at the same time. By pointing our eyes to the cross, we are able to hold the tension of both, allowing us to put our very real body issues in the right place in our theology.
- Session 4: Soul to Soul (05:00)—In these Soul to Soul videos, Lisa shares straight from her heart about the week's personal study.
- Session 4: Created for Consecration: The Indwelling (22:58)—We are the temples where the Holy Spirit dwells. In this session, Lisa explores what that means for our everyday lives. How do we think about our bodies differently, knowing who indwells them? Do we treat them differently, knowing the Spirit is with us? Lisa explains that this way of thinking actually frees us in our body struggles. It's good news!
- Session 5: Soul to Soul (06:11)—In these Soul to Soul videos, Lisa shares straight from her heart about the week's personal study.
- Session 5: Created for Unity: The Body of Christ (20:55)—In this session, Lisa explores how the church, the body of Christ, impacts how we live in our own individual bodies and vice versa. We are created for community and unity, and how we live in community influences and shapes how our bodies function.
- Session 6: Soul to Soul (05:20)—In these Soul to Soul videos, Lisa shares straight from her heart about the week's personal study.
- Session 6: Created for Glory: Your Whole Personhood (25:24)—Your whole personhood is what this study is about. You are body and soul, and you are one person. In this final session, Lisa brings together all we have studied so far in our whole body theology and also looks to the future when our bodies will be whole and resurrected with Jesus. It makes our goal, even today, to bring glory to God in our whole selves, body and soul.
