There's no reason to fear or ignore what's happening in the supernatural, unseen realm—we can live with confidence that God is in control of it all. Angels is a call to put your hope in the God of angel armies who reigns over heaven and earth.
Video Sessions:
- A Word for Leaders (08:23)—Are you leading or facilitating discussion for a Bible study group going through Angels? Don't miss this video of encouragement and direction from Melissa as you prepare to lead other women through this study.
- Session One: Introduction (27:41)—Join Melissa Spoelstra as she presents an overview to her study of angels and the God of Angel Armies. In this opening session, Melissa explains the structure of this study and why the study of angels is an important part of knowing God.
- Session Two: Angels in the Beginning (26:42)—In this session, Melissa teaches that the angel encounters in the opening books of the Bible point us to our need for a Savior who restores our relationship with God.
- Session Three: Angels in the Historical Books (28:38)—As Melissa walks through historical books like Judges, 1 and 2 Samuel, and 1 and 2 Kings, she shows us the importance of daily surrendering to God rather than relying on our own self-sufficiency.
- Session Four: Angels in the Wisdom Books (27:14)—The wisdom books of Job and Psalms include many references to heavenly beings. Melissa explains how a common theme we see throughout these mentions is the encouragement that hope in the Lord is not just possible; it’s promised.
- Session Five: Angels in the Prophetic Books (35:56)—Prophetic books like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Zechariah provide us with glimpses into the heavenly realm and remind us that prayer is our access point between heaven and earth.
- Session Six: Angels in the Gospels (27:08)—With this session, Melissa transitions to the New Testament, focusing on Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In these books, we witness angels in many of their roles, like being messengers of God’s word and enacting God’s judgment.
- Session Seven: Angels in the Early Church (30:53)—The appearances and mentions of angels in the early church period (Acts–3 John) highlight the importance of standing firm in our faith as we battle our spiritual enemy, seek to discern God’s truth over the lies of the world, and persevere through seasons of suffering this life throws our way.
- Session Eight: Angels in Revelation (21:23)—Melissa’s closing teaching session highlights the final book of the Bible, Revelation, and the glimpse we are given into the throne room of heaven. Melissa reminds us that worship should always be our posture toward the Lord.
