Author Bio:
Joi Wasill is the Founder and Executive Director of “Decisions, Choices & Options,” an educational organization based in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Since 2002, DCO has provided classroom training and prevention education for over 80,000 high school students on the topic of teen pregnancy prevention and abstinence. Joi is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in Public Administration and attended MTSU where she received her Teacher Education training and licensure. She is a former high school teacher and became involved in the field of teen pregnancy prevention and abstinence education after going through the crisis pregnancy of a close friend’s teenage daughter 14 years ago. The DCO program now serves over 50 schools in Middle Tennessee and has trained and partnered with over 135 pregnancy resource centers in 9 states and the Dominican Republic that are now implementing the DCO curriculum in local schools. She is a regular conference workshop speaker. She and her husband, Bill, have been married for 31 years and are the parents of a teenage son, Jacob. Her favorite hobby is watching him play football. They are long time members of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, Tennessee, where Joi has been part of student ministry for over 15 years.
