God Is: Understanding the Character of God

The world is overrun with religions, philosophies, and personal opinions regarding the nature and character of God. Left to our own devices, we typically make God in our own image and make Him into the kind of God we want. We are not left to figure God out on our own. Through the revelation of Scripture, we can see exactly who God is.

Seize the Day: Embracing a Mission with Purpose

Followers of Christ are called to share the gospel through words and actions. It’s a privilege we’ve been given to walk with Christ and take His gospel to our neighbors, our community, and the world. Through the book of Acts, we see the example from the early church of what it looks like to joyously embrace the mission.

Connecting with Others Like Jesus Did

Even though we’re living in a post-pandemic world, culture continues to encourage social distancing. Social media interaction is done from a distance and emboldens a lack of civility. But life is meant to be lived in connection with others. Believers are to pursue connection with others, and Jesus gave us the example to follow.

Essentials for Christian Living

We recognize there are doctrines taught in Scripture that are essential to knowing God—but that’s not enough. Too many people think if they simply believe the right things that’s all they need. In Paul’s’ instruction to the church in Corinth, he revealed several ways we are to live out our faith in community with other believers.

DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY

Discipleship is the lifestyle of walking with God. This walk tends to follow a pathway as followers become more like Christ and advance His kingdom.

Every pathway has signposts—markers to show a person's progress. Lifeway Research has identified eight signposts of discipleship—lifestyle patterns that ought to be growing in ever-increasing measure the longer a person walks the pathway of discipleship.

YOU Bible study curriculum is designed so that each of the following categories (signposts) are addressed over the course of a year. This ensures a balanced approach to Bible study as group members advance to spiritual maturity.

  • Engage with Scripture

  • Obey God and Deny Self

  • Serve God and Others

  • Share Christ

  • Exercise Faith

  • Seek God

  • Build Relationships

  • Live Unashamed
