You Lead Women's Event

Have you been called to lead women in your local church? Whether you are starting from scratch or in the process of rebuilding, this session will guide you through some basics in assessing your situation and moving forward. Learn principles from the book of Nehemiah and see how the why of ministering to women hasn't changed – the methods have.

Physical formation is seen in the body, but spiritual formation is the inner transformation of becoming more like Christ in order to serve others. In this session, you'll learn both the theological elements of spiritual formation as well as the process elements that shape who we are and who we are becoming in Christ. It is a life-long process that involves spiritual disciplines and the work of the Holy Spirit who transforms and conforms us to be more like Jesus each day.

Lifeway Research surveyed 1,000 pastors in the past year and discovered that out of 44 needs, the top challenge was developing leaders and volunteers. If this is true of the entire church, then women's ministry leaders are facing the same difficulty. This session will focus on theological and practical ways to recruit, retain, and celebrate those who are serving the body of Christ.

In this session we will walk through John 15: 1-12 and discover how this Scripture passage should inform our leadership. 

Because we live in a broken world, we will experience suffering. As leaders, we will either lead out of a place of suffering or teach others how to suffer well. This session will consider what it looks like to be in a season of suffering and still uphold the hope of Christ. We will also consider how to walk through the trials of life personally and with others and still count suffering as a blessing. Learn how you can lead out of suffering and teach others to do the same all for God's glory and your good.

We all agree these are unusual times. What worked yesterday, in terms of women’s ministry soirées and gatherings, may not work as we establish new normal and practices. So, how do we make meaningful ministry connections in a changing environment? Join us as we redefine what it means to “do ministry” in today’s church environment. 

Worry just might be the watchword from the last three or so years. Admittedly, worry for the Christian leader is like wearing white after Labor Day, elbows on the dinner table, or doing both on the same day---greatly frowned upon. Yet, it is there. This session does not promise to rid you of it, but this time and space will free you to acknowledge it and begin the journey to facing in it.

In this breakout we will examine the Scriptures and discuss how the Word becomes the source for the renewal of our minds. We will also discuss some common struggles we may encounter and how to overcome them. Finally, as leaders, we will talk about practical ways to help women make this a priority in their lives, seeing women with a renewed mind and by extension, a renewed life.

Sharing the Word of God with other women is one of the greatest missions a Biblical woman can embrace. Growing in the Lord through Bible studies and small groups is essential in the Christian life. Leading a Bible study and small group can be challenging but so rewarding especially when equipped to influence others effectively. This workshop is designed to provide essential tools to becoming an effective women’s Bible study leader and small group facilitator. Emphasis will be placed spiritual preparation, effective communication, and the rewards of leading a small group.
