On a trip to the Himalayan mountains, David Platt was confronted with staggering physical and spiritual needs unlike any he had ever seen. On leaving, Platt found himself asking what it means to follow Jesus in a world filled with urgent physical and spiritual needs? In the Something Needs to Change Bible study David Platt explores that question as he takes you on a life-altering trek through the Himalayas.

Session 1: Repentance [17:18]
In this session, David Platt introduces us to life in the Himalayas where there is a collision of urgent physical and spiritual needs. People die every day from preventable disease, young girls are trafficked into sex slavery, and most people have never even heard the name of Jesus. How should Christians respond to needs like this? This session begins to answer that question.

Session 2: Physical Need [19:22]
In this session, David Platt examines what it means to follow Christ in a world full of urgent physical need. We’ll hear gut-wrenching stories of desperate need in mountain villages. Together we’ll think about a gospel response to physical need sat home and around the world.

Session 3: Spiritual Need [19:59]
In this session, David Platt shifts focus from physical needs to urgent spiritual needs. Billions of people around the globe have little or no access to the gospel. Many live and die without ever hearing the name of Jesus. While physical needs are urgent, spiritual needs are ultimate.

Session 4: Loving God and Others [17:08]
In this session, David Platt addresses how we should live in a world filled with urgent physical and spiritual needs. The answer is surprisingly simple: live with undivided love for God and unselfish love for others.

Session 5: Opportunities [18:23]
Once we’re clear that following Jesus means we’re committing ourselves to love God absolutely and others unselfishly, we can turn our attention to the avenues God has given us to live out that calling. Every person has God-given skills, training, talents, abilities, and passions. In this session, David Platt encourages us to leverage the gifts and talents God has given us to spread His glory among the nations.

Session 6: Counting the Cost [24:28]
In this session, David Platt focused on an idea that many of us don’t think about enough: the cost of following Jesus. Following Jesus requires much from us. Trusting Jesus means risking all that have to follow Him wherever He leads.

Session 7: The One [18:17]
When you understand how deeply Jesus loves you, you’ll be compelled to do whatever it takes to make Him known in the world. As other people respond to the call to follow Christ, we join the celebration of heaven as men and women from every tribe and nation give their lives to Jesus. In this session, David Platt teaches on what delights the heart of God.

Session 8: Something Needs to Change [19:52]
This session brings an end to our journey through the Himalayas. To close, David Platt addressed a few big questions as we consider where God wants us to go from here. He then leads us to consider what needs to change in our own lives.
