Session 1: The Universal Craving [17:13]
In this session Louie Giglio helps us process the craving all of us have for a relationship with our father. All of us have different experiences with our earthly dads—some good, some not so good. But what unites us is the need that’s woven into our souls—the need to be loved, treasured, noticed, and accepted by our fathers. Even if we’ve experienced a breakdown in our relationship with our earthly dads, it doesn’t mean we can’t experience a miracle recovery in our relationship with God.
Session 2: The Most Important Thing about You [16:30]
Everybody has an idea of God in mind, and there are a ton of different viewpoints, some helpful, some not so helpful. Your concept of God could have come from a lot of places. Maybe your mom and dad told you at a young age what God was like, and you incorporated a lot of their ideas, some helpful, some not so helpful. Likely the culture and the part of the world you grew up in played a big part in shaping your image of God. In this session Louie Giglio explores some of our misunderstandings about God and seek to understand who He is as our Heavenly Father.
Session 3: Seeing God as a Perfect Father [13:22]
Discovering that God wants us to know Him as a perfect Father is only half of the journey. Each of us has a picture of what a father is like, primarily based on our relationship with our earthly dad. In this session Louie Giglio helps us dive deeper into our personal stories to identify ways our view of God can be distorted by a flawed understanding of what a father is.
Session 4: Your New Family Tree [18:49]
In this session, Louie Giglio goes even deeper into the new identity God gives us through Jesus. Because Christ hung on the God-forsaken tree of the cross, you’re invited to become part of a brand-new family tree. You still have to navigate circumstances with your earthly family, but you can be born into a new family by faith in Jesus.
Session 5: Finding Freedom [18:29]
In this session, Louie Giglio helps us wrestle with what’s most likely one of the more uncomfortable topics in our study together—forgiving our fathers. But I want to urge you to open your mind and heart, leaning into what God may have for you this next week so that you can fully experience the blessing, power, and freedom Jesus has made available for you through the cross.
Session 6: Just Like Dad! [19:33]
If the blessing of having God as our perfect Father was all we received in the relationship, we could end the study now. But God has more in store for us than making us His beloved sons and daughters. A phenomenal responsibility and opportunity come with that blessing: we’re invited to model our lives after our Heavenly Father. In this session Louie Giglio examines the biblical command to look and act just like God. And we can do something about that.
