About this Item

Help My Unbelief Video Sessions (for individual viewing on your personal computer) featuring Barnabas Piper. All 6 of these video sessions are available to purchase as individual, downloadable sessions. This 6-session Bible examines the topic of doubt and helps us to see that when we bring our doubts to Jesus that our doubts may pave a path to belief and trust.

These video sessions are most effective when used with Help My Unbelief Bible study book. Download any one or more of these sessions for personal use or for times you can’t be at the group Bible study sessions.

Session 1: Where Doubt Comes From [14:12] When many of us hear the word “doubt,” we think it’s sinful. To question God is wrong, right? Well, that depends on the definition of doubt. We need to know what, “doubt” is before we can begin to figure out how to deal with it. In this session, Barnabas Piper provides some answers to the big question, “What is doubt?”

Session 2: Doubts That Break Our Faith [14:46] You can doubt in a way that draws you closer to faith in God, or you can doubt in a way that undermines and dissolves your faith. In this session, Barnabas Piper examines how we doubt, particularly, how we shouldn’t doubt.

Session 3: Bring Your Doubts to Jesus [13:11] When you bring your doubt to Jesus, it can actually build your faith. In this session, Barnabas Piper looks at a story of a doubting man’s interaction with Jesus. We will see how his response to doubt led him to help, hope, and faith in Jesus.

Session 4: Admit Your Struggle [12:11] This session examines what happens when we admit our struggles to Jesus. Barnabas Piper teaches on a prayer from Mark 9: “I believe, help my unbelief.” This prayer is an invitation to doubters, an encouragement to believers, and a standard up to which we can live.

Session 5: Jesus’ Response to Doubts [14:06] The previous two sessions examined a story in Mark 9 through the eyes of a hurting father. In this session, Barnabas Piper teaches on the same passage by looking at Jesus’ reaction to the father. We will see that Jesus is gracious to doubters.

Session 6: Doubts and Deeper Faith [10:54] In this final session, we have one lingering question. How do doubts bring us into deeper faith? In this session, Barnabas Piper leads us to examine our hearts, our attitudes, and finally the very object of our faith—Jesus Christ.
