WHAT STARTED OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO with a small group of students committing themselves to Christ in the pursuit of sexual purity has evolved into a massive global phenomenon called True Love Waits. Over the past twenty years, the True Love Waits movement has witnessed hundreds of thousands of young people commit their sexual purity to God, and many who have compromised on their sexual purity in the past have experienced the promise of hope and restoration through Christ. It has been a tremendous movement, orchestrated by God, to further spread the biblical message of sex and purity to a younger generation.

The True Love Project continues the True Love Waits legacy of helping students understand issues pertaining to sex and purity through the lens of Scripture. Authors Clayton and Sharie King explore issues such as understanding how sex, purity, and our individual stories fit into God’s larger story and design; how to understand Jesus’ lordship over our lives; cultural and biblical perspectives on sex and purity; and forgiveness. By building from this biblical worldview, Clayton and Sharie share practical ways students can fight for personal purity.

• Intro Video: Introduction to True Love Project (2:46)—Clayton King introduces the True Love Project and invites students to let the gospel define their purity.
• God’s Story, Your Story (10:32)—Clayton teaches that an understanding of sex and purity begins with an understanding of God’s story and your role in it.
• Session 1: Interview with Mark Batterson (9:18)—Mark Batterson explains that to understand why sexual purity matters, you must first understand where you fit into God’s story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration.
• The Cost of Ownership (13:09)—Because Jesus is the main character in God’s story, we should follow His lordship and recognize that He knows best when it comes to sex and purity.
• Session 2: Interview with Perry Noble (7:29)—Perry Noble explains why you need to decide who is Lord before you decide who you will love.
• The Bible on Sex (16:14)—While culture teaches that sex is either everything or nothing, the Bible teaches that sex is good and a gift.
• Session 3: Interview with Jud and Lori Wilhite (11:15)—Jud and Lori Wilhite discuss the difference between how our culture views sexuality and how the Lord views sexuality.
• Your Heart Matters (14:13)—When it comes to the human heart, the Bible teaches us that it is the command center of our lives, deceitful and corrupt, and made new in Christ.
• Session 4: Interview with Ocielia Gibson (10:27)—Former Miss Black USA Ocielia Gibson shares her unique perspective on sex and the human heart.
• Purity from Within (14:04)—Dealing with sexual sin involves receiving God’s forgiveness as well as extending forgiveness to others.
• Session 5: Interview with Marian Jordan Ellis (9:00)—Sometimes it can be hard to accept God’s forgiveness. Marian Jordan Ellis shares about her struggle with sexual purity and how she accepted God’s forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
• Our Final Destination (14:35)—When it comes to sexual purity, we must determine where we are going and how to get there. Once Jesus becomes our destination, we will want to pursue purity out of our love for Him.
• Session 6: Interview with Jeff Bethke (9:49)—The ultimate goal for a Christian is to be found faithful to Jesus. Jeff Bethke discusses practical steps that can help us live for the glory of God.
• Hate It, Starve It, Outsmart It (15:40)—It’s difficult to glorify God through our sexuality apart from having a plan of action. Fighting sexual sin and temptation will require us to hate it, starve it, and outsmart it.
• Session 7: Interview with Steven and Holly Furtick (12:14)—Steven and Holly Furtick give practical insights on establishing a battle plan for sexual purity.
• Sex, God’s Glory, and Your Mission (13:43)—When you are committed to living a holy life that is set apart for God, you live a life of worship to Christ and a life of witness to the world.
• ​Session 8: Interview with Derwin and Vicky Gray (9:17)—Derwin and Vicky Gray share their perspective on sex and the glory of God.
• Closing Remarks (2:15)—Clayton reminds us that it is the gospel that defines our purity. He encourages us to walk in boldness and faith, and to always remember that Jesus is Lord.
