1/15/2009 8:47:24 PM: Loving it!
Enjoy Beth so much in the video''s. The time just flies by. She is a wonderful "teacher" and makes learning fun. I did teh first week all in one day, I enjoyed it so much.

1/16/2009 8:50:24 AM: Excellent Teaching with New Insights
I''''m in week 1, day 3 of this study, and from the get go, this has been an eye-opener! I''''ve read the book of Esther many times, but have never seen some of the things that this study has brought out thus far. I have but one question - I''''m trying to find more on Paton (end note #20). I pulled up the End Notes section on here, and all it did was give a name. I love to research myself, and there''''s no pointing us to where that can be done on an individual basis.
LifeWay Response:
End Note information is now online and can be found at www.lifeway.com/bethmoore

1/18/2009 10:11:39 AM: I LOVE IT!!
I like the shorter lessons and studying a chapter a week, it gives you a chance to really think about and visualize what the scripture is saying. I love to hear Beth speak, the longer videos better help set the tone for the next weeks study. This is absolutely one of my fav Beth Moore studies. Keep ''em comming Beth.

1/19/2009 7:12:56 PM: It is wonderful and fresh!
I like the improved format of the workbook. There is plenty of room to write responses without the lines on the page. We have an hour for sharing, discussion and prayer. Then we have an hour to watch the session. Works well for my group. I like the fact that women are learning and having fun but not at the expense of men.

1/21/2009 3:27:22 PM: Wonderful!!
We''re only in week 3 and I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favorites. I only thought I knew the story of Esther!! As always, Beth as opened my eyes to so much more than I had ever seen before and made me hunger for more. Is that a mixed metaphor? Oh well, you know what I mean! For the lady with the time issues, I have a couple of suggestions. Our group meets for 2 and a half hours (sometimes a bit more) each week so we have time for the discussion. The other group can only meet for about 70-75 minutes, so they''re taking 20 weeks instead of 10. They watch a video one week and have discussion the next. Maybe one of those options would work for your group.

1/24/2009 6:46:21 AM: Study was done at a good pace. Homework fun.
The video sessions are a bit long. 45 min. is the ideal time. We feel rushed in our discussion in order to get through the video. Love Beth''s humor and passion for her sisters.

1/26/2009 6:02:17 PM: We are in love with our Queen
Our group is loving this new study!!! We can''t wait to get back together each week to see what Beth has uncovered for us. God is doing amazing things with our group. I don''t want it to go by too fast. I want our study to crawl by!!

2/2/2009 11:59:00 PM: For such a time as this!
I especially love the videos, and look forward to that part of the study each week.(time just flies by, my notebook is full to the brim with notes, as is my bathroom mirror!) The history, the insight, the questions, and the depth has made the word of God become so real in my everyday life. I have a hard time putting it down each day, and find myself hungry for more. Beth''s teaching provides the meat in God''s word I so long for (and need!), THANK YOU, Beth!

2/3/2009 6:16:25 AM: Love it, but...
I am enjoying this study, but the videos would be better and have just as much impact in 45 minutes.

2/4/2009 5:02:30 PM: Amazing Study!
I had the priveldge of taking part of her live study (Fall 2007) in Houston, TX as she was writing this study. Beth has taken a commonly studied book of the bible to a new level - relating it to the struggles that we all (as women) face every day. I highly recommend this study - it is one of my absolute favorites! note - the videos are a bit long, but completely worth the time! :) Beth will have you laughing and crying all at once.

2/4/2009 6:24:39 PM: How does she do it? The best one yet
I am always amazed by Beth''s Bible studies. Every time I start a new one I think she can''t top the last one, but, somehow, she does. We are in the middle of Esther - just finished the video for session 4 today - and it is just wonderful. Through her calling from God, Beth can relate a centuries-old story to my life and bring God''s word alive speaking just to me. I would recommend this study to anyone - I am the mother of almost-grown children, but this would speak to college-age women as well as it speaks to me.

2/10/2009 10:15:38 PM: Fantastic! So encouraging, empowering and inspriring!
I Love how Beth Moore teaches. She has a way of getting right into the meat of the WORD while explaining so clearly. This way the newest of believers can follow her and the most experienced of believers are still on the edge of their seats learning new information. I have been studied the bible for years in bible studies, multiple college courses, church services, retreats and home studies; Beth Moore is absolutely the best teacher I have ever heard. She makes bible characters come to life, draws coorelations that are literally hidden in scripture and brings relevence from each topic she is focused on.

2/10/2009 11:46:11 PM: Refreshing and encouraging
I am currently in a women''s bible study in Brentwood, CA 94513. I eagerly look forward each week to Beth''s DVD presentation and our small group sessions of going through our workbook each week. My personal Bible study time has taken a tremendous turn. I enjoy the personal quiet time alone and look forward each week to hearing and sharing with other women in our group. I particulary like the timing structure for the study. We meet from 9:00am - 11:15am on Tuesday mornings. I would not want to be rushed through this study just for the sake of meeting a bible study time frame. I have introduced the material to girlfriends in Houston and they have purchased the materials and begun an in home girls night out for prayer and bible study on Mondays in their homes. I look forward to sharing with other ladies about the timely subject matter. Thank you Beth for allowing God to use you to share with us for "...such a time as this."

2/11/2009 8:04:25 AM: Incredible
Daniel had been my favorite study until now. I think Esther has edged him out - barely! I am happy with the length of the videos - I am always disappointed when they''re finished. The timing of the material in the videos has had PERFECT timing -- a "God Thang" no doubt.

2/11/2009 9:33:32 AM: well done
Please rethink the length of the video''s. I have been leading a Wed night Bible study for years. We have done a variety of Studies, including most of Beth''s. We have 90 minutes. Remember that not all women have 2 hours during the day or at night time to give to a weekly bible study.

2/13/2009 9:17:04 AM: It makes me want to tell every woman I come in contact they need to take this st
I love to dig into God''s Word and study so love all the detail and research Beth imputs, love the way we apply it to our world today and I especially love her own love for God. I must say I hate doing the PURIM. I will get through it and I even looked on line to see if she put the answers in.

2/14/2009 7:35:43 PM: Most wonderful
I am just in the middle of the study, but my life has already been changed. Doors have opened and forgivness has been given. Thank you for this opportunity to study his word in such depth and honesty.

2/15/2009 6:16:51 PM: Fresh perspective on Esther
I am really loving this Bible study on Esther. I am more in tune to what is actually going on in the story line as well as the emotions that Esther is experiencing. I love the PURIM acrostic. It makes me really look for the different aspects to be discovered. I look forward to what God has for me to learn during this study. I can''t wait for more Beth Moore studies- this is my second one.

2/16/2009 10:51:41 PM: Eye opening- Love it
Being a mom to 2 year old twins and a newborn...my life is hectic. But what I am realizing is now could be my "moment". God''s time is prime time. Thanks for addressing all the issues that women face. Sometimes we can feel better just knowing we aren''t alone. I did not even notice that the videos were longer this time. I am just soaking it all in! I look forward to my quiet time studying the book of Esther. Thanks for your energy Beth!

2/19/2009 12:13:52 AM: Haven''t started yet :-) But I usually love Beth''s studies!!!
In the Esther study guide and leader''s guide it mentions a "red book" I''ve looked for an explanation of what that is and haven''t been able to find out??? Any help would be appreciated.
LifeWay Response:
The "red book" is explained in the Retreat Plan on pages 10-15 of the Leader Guide. Participants submit their ideas on "ways it is hard to be a woman" and those ideas are collected in an 8 1/2 x 11-inch, 3-ring binder. Leaders then share thoughts throughout the study just as Beth, in the video series, shares from her binder...a red book.

2/19/2009 3:34:56 PM: I liked the outline of Esther it was easy to read and understand
I didn''t dislike anything about it. I hope that she does other books of the Bible like this. One of My favorites that I would like for her to do is Ruth.

2/20/2009 6:23:21 AM: Excellent, see Beth''s growth in God''s Word with each new study.
Loved the study! I love the way these studies pull me so close to God. Only problem was with the print, light green difficult to read at times and Scripture references not clear. such as John 3:16, semicolon blended in with numbers. Heard other class members mention the same. Intended only for constructive purposes.

2/23/2009 11:10:50 AM: Another excellent Bible study with application for women''s lives today
The only dislike I have ever had concerning one of your products, and I have led or participated in numerous studies, is that the green ink gave myself and all of our 24 women difficulty and the questions change of type was not distinctive enough and caused problems. After the first session I asked our women to go through first and highlight all the questions and exercises each week before begining the homework. That has worked for us.

2/23/2009 11:47:04 PM: Excellent biblical study for todays women
I really am challenged by Beth''s ability to be so transparent and relational within her study guide and video! The length of the video is appropriate for she has such a powerful message...PREACH IT SISTER! She has so much to say and direct us in todays tough world of womanhood that I am drawn to what God is saying through her! There is so much hope in the study of Esther for every woman today...God is so good to give us this book of the bible to encourage us in our walks!

2/24/2009 9:07:29 PM: Excellent and thought provoking
Having read through Esther several times and heard several sermons on the book, I thought it would be a boring study...I was soooo wrong. It is very interesting and Beth is an excellent teacher. She brings fresh God-inspired insights and the study has been a great encouragement to all the women in our group. I do have one question - Our group has puzzled over what Beth mean when she uses the term (or abbrev.) "GP"? We haven''''t heard of it before.
LifeWay Response:
Beth, in a portion that was edited to help keep down the session length, is talking to the audience about how she loves Kirk Franklin. The group he sings and dances with is called God's Property. She then says, "So he calls ’em GP. And, and, and in the song “Stomp,” you know, anybody wanna stomp? He says this, “GP, are you with me?” And so I’m just askin’ you, are you with me?" So, her reference to GP is based on this.

2/25/2009 8:29:10 PM: Amazing
I love how she''s honest, to the point, hilarous, compassionate and so wise about Esther. She makes me see so much more and finds themes within the book to fit each person. God''s revealed so much to me through this study so far and answered many prayer and questions!

2/25/2009 11:04:46 PM: GREAT!!!
I am going to this study with my mom at her church. I have never thought of myself as a chuch person, but I was hooked on te first night. Beth you have made an impact on my life. Now please just make on for couples. soon please!

2/27/2009 12:21:36 PM: Absolutely God lead!!
I am in week four, day 5 of this study on Esther. I have heard the book preached and taught before but the insight God has given Beth Moore and her helpers is wonderful. You would think they were right there in the midst of all the upheaval with the description of what is going on. It makes God come alive in the words and you can''t help but see his divine hand on everything.

2/27/2009 5:25:56 PM: Excellent
Absolutely love this study and all the ladies feel as if Beth is speaking to each one individually. I love how Beth gets right up along side of us and shares her own struggles. She identifies with us and for that, we are grateful. Would love the endnotes to be included in the book or at least the Leader''''s guide. Had some difficulty locating them on the website. Did not use the Leader''''s guide with "Esther" at all. Need more room for notes from the teaching...each teaching is full and rich and anointed.

3/1/2009 2:28:47 PM: Excellent
It has been a while since I have been in a Beth Moore Study and I am truly loving this study. Beth is such a student and brings to light so many questions I had never considered. I am grateful I am taking the study but I do have a question. On Page 165 next to the last paragraph of Day three she mentions the first face Haman sees in Eternity is God''''s? I do not believe Haman went to Heaven and I have been taught Hell is the absence of God - explanation, please.
LifeWay Response:
Please take a look at Romans 14:10-12 and Philippians 2:10. These verses along with many other passages make clear that the unsaved dead will see God for judgment before they are sent away for eternal punishment (every knee will bow, each will give an account to God).

3/3/2009 5:40:52 AM: Wonderful, and has stepped on my toes!
I have led or taken all of Beth Moore''s studies, and this study is among my favorites. Beth dives deep into the Scripture and finds treasures not readily visible. I love the literature aspect of the study and seeing how beautiful the writing is as well. I do prepare my group each week, though, that they''d better wear steel-toed boots! Beth has stepped on our toes many times in this study, but it is always so worth it. Bible study should confront us and leave us changed, and Hallelujah, we ARE changing!

3/4/2009 10:20:20 AM: Just started...
This is my first Beth Moore bible study. Although for many years I have always had a desire to do one of hers. This being my first time, I wasn''t aware of the videos that I am hearing everyone talk about. I only purchase the study guide & was feeling a little lost & overwhelmed. So I came to this site & realized it could be because I was missing a key part...the dvd''s!

3/5/2009 7:51:41 AM: Wow! Beth Moore does an EXCELLENT job of shedding light!
I am so very impressed by this study! I love the additional insights provided by Beth that helps us see these people of the Bible in their time and in their setting. It makes such an impact. Additionally, Beth has been teaching me how to think as the people of the Bible may have been thinking given their situations. This is now an integral part of my study/Bible reading each week. Beth makes even the most difficult passages easy to understand, allowing us to climb inside the story and experience it as it comes to life. Given that, I would LOVE to see her come out with a study in Revaltion!! :-D

3/9/2009 9:37:46 PM: The Perfect Bible Study for Such a Time as This!
I have done several Beth Moore studies and I always enjoy them! Some have been more powerful in their timing for my life than others, but they have all been amazing to learn from! I thought that with what is going on in our world now, this study came out at just the right time! How appropriate to be standing in the Oval Office and to be studying how to be brave women who are called to stand and fulfill our destiny at "such a time as this!" If we ever needed some of these messages, now is definitely the time. I didn''t notice that the videos were longer, there is just so much GOOD stuff in them! We manage to get through it all in a 2 hour slot, which is what all the studies we''ve done have been. I do agree that this study is more "girlie" but it IS one of the only books about and named for a woman! I enjoy Beth''s relatability and real transparency, and of course I realize her ministry is to women. I do think it''d be an awesome idea to have a study that you could do co-ed. Daniel might be a good co-ed one, and I''d love my husband to get some of the awesome teaching Beth does, but I''m sure he''d have a hard time getting through the references to hair and shoes, etc. Is there anyone who is as awesome as Beth on video who does a bible study that would be good for men and women together?

3/10/2009 11:31:31 AM: On the pulse of what the church is going through in these times
I have many, many studies I have liked and have learned from...this one, however, hit me as no other. Instead of studying about someone or some event, I was challenged to go and do...He has a destiny for me in my own life surroundings...I, also, have been called for such a time as this. Thank you for providing this.

3/10/2009 12:54:36 PM: Absolutely AWESOME and inspiring!
I am in week 8 and am already feeling sad about finishing the study - it has spoken to me and my life in so many ways. My cup runneth over! Please tell me what we are doing next? This Beth Moore study has been my absolute favorite (I have done about 5 others!)

3/11/2009 7:57:00 PM: Excellent so far, needed for today''s woman.
We completed the intro session tonight and I have been skimming thru the book, although we are only begining, this study looks excellent. I am currently taking other Theology classes and this study looks to be designed to give me both the biblical history and life application portions I need. I love Beth''s studies and this one looks to be of the same high standard we have come to expect.

3/12/2009 8:45:30 AM: Wonderful, Glorious, Uplifting, Timely, Pertinent,
This Bible Study was so timely for me and Beth is so inspiring and down to earth - she makes you feel like she is in lock step with you and what you are going through. This is my second Bible Study with her and I know I was led to these for a purpose. I''m going back to church after a long absence due to her inspiration.

3/13/2009 9:36:55 AM: Fantastic!!!
Our ladies are loving this studay! We have done almost all of Beth''s studies and this is the first study for several ladies. It has been life changing for all of us. We can''t wait to see what the next study is. Some things to consider: The names on the videos were confusing in the beginning - which video goes with which week/session. Thank you Beth for being faithful to your calling!!

3/13/2009 12:43:48 PM: Excellent!
It really has changed our perspective; it is turning around our lives!!

3/18/2009 3:02:30 PM: Assuring that God''''s hand is in everything, even unknown to us.
An eye opening experience, that even though many years may pass before God''''s will comes about, His will does come to pass according to His heavenly plan. Beth, I need some insight on the recipe for Hamantashen(Haman''''s Ears). I became frustrated when I had difficulty forming my cookies to appear like those in the picture. They resembled ears that had lost to Mohammud Ali, too many times appearing that of ''''cauliflower ears''''. More like Haman''''s demise.
LifeWay Response:
On page 215 of the member book, Beth explains that the cookie Hamantashen literally means "Haman's Pockets" or "Haman's Hat" but in Israel the cookies are called "Haman's Ears." The name comes from a legend describing Haman with ugly, twisted ears. So, enjoy your cookies and know they may be more appropriate than you imagine and closer to reality than the ones we pictured.

3/19/2009 8:10:46 AM: Amazing study for every woman!
We are finishing up this study at my church, and I am so blown away by how much I have learned in the last 10 weeks. I feel so much stronger as a woman and closer to God because of this study. This was my first Beth Moore bible study and I am in total awe of her knowledge of the bible. She is such an inspiration. Her fervent love for God and teaching his word to other women is moving. After a few sessions with Beth, she seems like an old and dear friend, close to your heart. I am sad to see the study come to an end but am excited to study more areas of the bible with Beth!

3/23/2009 8:27:31 PM: Life changing! But what about those cookies?
Loved the study!! I''m making the "Haman''s Ears" recipe for our final session tomorrow and just realized the recipe does not say when to add the vanilla or the baking powder. I assume you mix it in before the flour. But I am SUCH a recipe follower. And since my dough seems really dry, I''ve become concerned. I guess I will just stretch myself and wing it!

3/25/2009 5:31:12 PM: Excellent and life changing study
This study was wonderful. I have taught several of her studies in my church and home but this study drew the largest participation. Many said it was life changing. Beth continues to remind women to come up higher and be all that God destined her to be. I once again have a much greater appreciation of the Jewish nation and people. I had a Messianic Jewish woman to come and speak to our group. She is also a recording artist (Michelle Gold from Nashville). It was the week of the celebration of Purim so we really related to her. I look forward to Beth''s next study.

3/26/2009 11:51:16 AM: Best Study Yet!!!
Our church just finished this study and we are all raving how great it was!! We hated to see it end. Thank you Beth --keep giving us more because we love you. Peace be with you always!

3/27/2009 10:45:34 AM: LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!
From the very beginning, I was captivated. I have led several of Beth''s studies before but didn''t know what to expect with this one. It was absolutely wonderful! We had the largest and most consistent attendance than ever before. Each week the ladies were excited to come and began to feel comfortable with sharing during discussion time. What a blessing this study was to me!

4/2/2009 9:30:14 AM: a rollar coaster ride filled with thrills and spills !!!!
Bible study is my favorite way to dig in deeper, to make it more accessible to my plain old mind. I LOVED this study for the emotions it provokes, the conviction God gave me thru it, and the visuals Beth offers up. It is a rollar coaster that thrills you, scares you, whoop t doo''s you into knowing God more and loving Him even more. I''m beginning week 8 and feel like I do when a great ride is nearing it''s end...sad...but ever ready to get back in line to ride another. I am eager to see which study God leads me to next.

4/5/2009 3:10:59 PM: I love it I mean!!! It was God send at the time I need it.
This is my third one and it was God send. I have been in and of of church for 12 years now after a 20 year very faithful member. But had gone though a death and going though the change of life I have been though emotional spiritual mess that I have not been good to God my family or myself. This study has help me to see I am not crazy and that my body is going though a change and GOD UNDERSTANDS ME. I Will forever be thankful to Beth and to my friend Pam the leader of this and all 7 of our Beth Moore studies and God for his love for me. I just wish I could talk to Beth I think she could help me.

4/14/2009 8:18:10 PM: I love it!!
Beth has such wonderful insights into scripture. She is so well prepared when she does the lectures. I can hardly wait to get home and start my lessons. I have to force myself to stop, just do one lesson a day so it can be spread over the week. I thank the Lord that He has blessed Beth with her gift of teaching.

4/18/2009 4:41:25 PM: Excited to learn so much.
I am excited to begin Esther this summer! Can anyone recommend a scripture passage to memorize while our group is completing this study? We really enjoyed working on Psalm 121 together during Beth Moore''s Stepping Up study.

4/22/2009 7:45:31 PM: Wonderful
I just finished the study guide. Tomorrow night is the last video. I can''t stop crying. I keep re-reading page 221 in the study guide. I thought I knew the story, but Beth has taken me to a whole new level. Thank you for the most wonderful words. You have poured your heart into this study. I so want to give you a great big hug. It''s not Beth I''m really wanting it''s our Lord that shines in and through her. He uses her personality and brings it right home. Thanks you for helping me grow deeper in the Lord and to know my savior more. See you in Pittsburgh, PA this June.

4/30/2009 11:08:17 AM: Excellent and so timely
I loved this study. I can''t even begin to tell you how timely it was for me and several of the women in our group. God used it to refine some things in my life. I would love to have a copy of the poem you used with the chess pieces at the beginning of each video session. I have done all your studies and always look forward to a new one coming out. Thank you so much for your ministry to women.

5/4/2009 2:37:04 PM: Excellent
As many times as I have studied Esther before, this one has given me fresh insight. The ladies in the group I facilitate have grown hungry for God''s Word as a result of what they have learned. We are in our last week of the study and they are not wanting it to end. It has been somewhat of a challenge with the videos being longer but they have been awesome. Thank you, Beth, for being faithful to the call God has placed on your life. (Beth made a remark in one of the videos that she is in the process of revising Breaking Free. When will this revision be available?)

5/5/2009 11:22:56 AM: So insightful--So relevant!
We are in week 7 and I have really enjoyed Esther--who knew there was so much to be gleaned from this little book? Just to address a couple of comments I have seen about the length of the videos, I wanted to offer that we have gone to an every-other-week video format in our group. That way, we have time for discussion at the in-between week meetings. It also gives us 2 weeks to get the homework done, which works nicely for busy people! I would like to request that Beth NOT shorten the video sessions! I think that the time she takes is just right, and accomplishes God's purpose for this study by getting us thoroughly emotionally and intellectually engaged. I can't think of anything I would want to have been edited. Just my humble opinion...thank you for "listening"!

5/6/2009 4:06:22 PM: AWESOME
We are in our final week of our study on Esther. I have enjoyed this so much. It has been a little more light hearted than the study we did before, but Beth's insights are amazing. I have laughed, cried and been blessed! Thanks to Beth for sharing her gift with us!

12/13/2008 10:52:57 AM: Esther ROCKS!
The book of Esther has always been a personal fave. Beth enriched the scope of God''''s word and helped reveal new and deeper understanding of a shrug of shoulders and a "Who knows..." remark and what MY destiny calls me to. Becky in Jacksonville, FL

1/8/2009 5:47:59 PM: Fabulous study
The Lord has blessed our sister with marvelous insight and a desire to dig (of course, in reverse order). This is my 10th in-depth Bible study of Beth''s in about as many years. This Esther study, in conjunction with reading Dr Charles Swindoll''s book on Esther, A Woman of Strength & Dignity, supplied cohesion to the notion God can use anyone (young or old, male or female, orphaned or not) willing to dedicate themselves to the purposes of God. Countless hours went into my study but, oh, what I gleaned!

5/26/2009 7:16:31 AM: This is an amazing study.
It's been a long time since I have attended a study that It has touched me so deeply, I never realized there was so much 'Haman' in me. God is using this study to change me. I can't wait for each session and I so enjoy the weekly study lessons.

5/29/2009 4:11:32 PM: So amazing!
Each lesson was relevant to my life in one way or another.

5/30/2009 10:52:32 PM: AWESOME!!!!
I loved every second of this study. I couldn't get enough. I have done many of Beth's studies and I felt that by far this was hands down the best one ever. Certainly the best study I have ever done by anyone. To the woman who said she was left still hungry...that is the point. The more you get the more you want. Hopefully your appetite for the Word will never be satisfied until we meet Him face to face and become all knowing!! God bless Beth and keep up the good work!!

6/2/2009 10:51:47 PM: I can barely find the words to express what this study has given me!
It was if Beth knew my world exactly & applied each and every week of study on the book of Esther to what was sitting on plate right in front of me. The timing of the sessions was just right for the deepest amount of reflection any shorter wouldnt have the same impact.

6/10/2009 9:36:56 AM: Another Fantastic Study
This is my 4th Beth Moore Bible Study and once again she has written a fantastic study. Initially I thought the study was going to be about "history" my least favorite subject. The study starts off dry with a historical background. Then Beth adds her "Sister Talk" and the study is more entertaining for women. With an open mind, I stayed with the study and soon discovered the passion behind the story of Esther. The study inspired me to "fast" like Esther and have a real life experience of what she did. I also found a renewed respect and understanding for Jewish holidays and celebrations through this study. Thank you Beth for the in depth look at one of the most famous women in the Bible. Thank you Lifeway for the MP3, I was able to download the group sessions I missed and listen to them at home. You make learning the Bible easy for busy Moms like me!

6/18/2009 10:44:28 AM: i love it
There was no dislikes i like it all i did not what to put the book down.

7/1/2009 12:35:03 PM: Haven't taken the study yet, but would like to. I have questions
I am considering buying the book to study on my own. I can't afford to buy the Study for my personal use. Is the book alone worth while as a stand alone unit or should I try to find a church that's giving the study and join them?

11/10/2009 10:29:11 AM: Love it!!
She speaks to my heart & mind. As a woman, I need both!! I look forward to the videos (love the opening poem) & the homework never feels like work. I love reading the Word!

11/11/2009 7:43:50 AM: Extremely rewarding and informative.
This is the first Bible study I've participated in. Walking through the book of Esther with Beth has been a tremendous learning and growing experience. Anyone who can be honest with themselves will see facets of their character that reflect Esther, Haman, King Xerxes and Mordecai. This detailed study has contributed greatly to my Christian growth.

11/15/2009 11:06:23 PM: The video presentation was fantastic!
This is my first experience with one of the Beth Moore studies. I like Beth's down-to-earth way of talking (sometime verging on the outrageous according to some folks). for me, I could do with a little less of the 'darling one' kind of speech, but that is probably personal taste. I agree about the 'Turn it Around' sheet should be given ahead of time to avoid confusion. Maybe this is a leader responsibility? The cookie recipe needs to be clarified so inexperienced cooks know when to add the vanilla and baking powder. Also, whether to grease the baking sheets. I just took my dough out of the refrigerator and wonder if I am going to be able to roll it out, very stiff. Oh well, life is an adventure! look forward to more of Beth's studies.

4/7/2009 12:11:28 PM: Beautiful study.
This study caused me to look into the mirror and see truth. It has changed me in more ways then one and touched the hard parts of my heart, making them soften. I have laughed, I have cried and I have grown through this woman''s study and I''m already looking for something knew to study when this one is done (in a couple of weeks.) Thank you for the blessing, thank you Heavenly Father, to You be the glory.

4/9/2009 10:36:51 PM: So far so good, but not like Believing God
We have been studying for two weeks now, so just getting started; however, where in the world did the idea come from that Vashti was commanded to only wear a crown and nothing else? I think Scripture is being added to, unless someone has a pretty good explanation. The end notes only add two pages to the book, so I think these should be included. A lady I was sitting by today commented that she doesn''''t know how to run a computer, so she can''''t receive help from the online resources--just a suggestion. :)
LifeWay Response:
Thanks for your review. You will also find the footnotes in print in the leader guide to Esther. In the list to which you refer, Beth is outlining some of the historical explanations commentators through the centuries have proposed for Vashti's defiant act (she even states that they are from the reasonable to the absurd). The one about only wearing a crown is not footnoted, probably because a number of commentaries suggest that as a possiblity.

6/1/2009 9:47:07 AM: A good study for women
This is the first Bible study for a group of women at our church in a very long time. I found this to be an excellent beginning for many women who have never participated in Bible study before. When we began to plan for this study, my prayer was that there would be at least 10 women who would be interested. God has provided us with 2 classes (evening and morning sessions) for 40 registered women and 32 who are still coming. This study speaks to the challenges of women today when many cannot clearly see God in their lives - but need the encouragement that even when they don't see Him, He is there.

1/13/2009 10:51:41 AM: The Bible study and resource materials are superb, as always
The only problem I have is the length of the sessions on DVD. We do the study at night, in one hour sessions (which we have now increased to 1 hour and 15 minutes but have no flexibility to extend further). We alternate with discussion one week and video session the next. With the length of the video sessions continuing to increase, it is becoming more difficult to do. Also, too much time is taken up at the beginning with the disclaimer, just music, etc.
LifeWay Response:
The length of our studies is something we are always evaluating. Thanks for giving us your input on this.

5/17/2009 7:21:26 AM: Recommend using this study but be careful of schedule
I am reviewing from the viewpoint of one who helps choose Bible studies used in our Women's Ministry and this study is one that ladies will enjoy. However, if you are using on Sunday or Wednesday nights, be aware that there is very little time for discussion if you are dependent on child care from resources such as Awana programs. It is, however, a study that women will enjoy. I agree with an earlier reviewer that this in not a good study for men and women because of "female issues" content, but the title conveys that well. Overall, I recommend the study. It is, after all, Beth Moore and ladies will attend and learn about our great God. I only give four stars rather than five because it is difficult to schedule because of the time factor. If anyone from Lifeway is reading, is there some way in the future to have two versions of the video in the kits? One that would allow us to buy one kit to use with an abbreviated version and the longer version for when time is not such an issue?

4/6/2009 2:30:34 PM: I have really enjoyed it. It is speaking to me in many ways.
It would have been nice to have the editor''s note about the "turn it around" handout before the lesson so that we could have it printed out and know what Beth was talking about. And, it''s tough being a woman when Beth makes a comment about hair color(session 7, day 4)implying that I am not wise if I don''t color my hair.

12/17/2008 6:04:41 PM: Too early to give a description
We are trying to do this study at our church during our allotted two hours per week for the next 16 weeks. It is very difficult with her teaching video lasting over 1 hour each week. It doesn''''t allow for the much needed prayer time and discussion. Even though we are trying to divide up the weeks, it was just easier when the teaching was for 45 minutes! I look forward to getting past the time crunch and enjoying the study!
LifeWay Response:
Thank you, we will consider this with future studies. We know the timing of the studies vary for audiences and subject matter. We continue to work on finding that balnace.

11/16/2009 3:39:18 PM: It had good insight.
I have done all the beth moore studies. This one had a very good deep insight towards the end. However, I felt it went on and one about a certain tangent and missed others throughout the study. I had a real hard time finding the main focus. It seemed to go at length, go on to something else, and then come back and go at length again on a subject. It didn't seem like Beth's regular writing. All the extra activities made me feel like I was back in school. What I got out of this study was If I perish, I perish, but let me serve you with love first.

9/9/2009 1:56:49 PM: Sessions too long and too heady for young believers
I have done all of Beth's studies and have loved them. However, It seems with each new one, her DVD teachings get longer and longer. It makes it very difficult for us to get everything done and runs too late. If she could keep the teachings to 40-45 mins. or less, it would be much easier. Something has to give and it's usually our discussion time, which I think if very valuable.

10/27/2009 10:46:51 PM: Not up to par with her other studies
I have completed many of Beth's studies. The growth and the unexpected directions she takes her student is exciting, phenomenal and filled with the holy spirit. However, this study is very different in the sense that the student isn't making these discoveries through God's word, but, is told based on many, many commentaries through a lot of wordy reading and contradictions. ie - Vashti refusing to go into drunken royal party (nude??) week 1; humble and cooperative qualities lacking in Vashti week 2 The language used ('get aload of' ...) and name calling ('king headache', 'big thug') are not what I expect. I am frustrated and only in week 3. Would seriously consider dropping this study but love being in fellowship.

1/4/2009 6:58:47 PM: Not meaty enough
I just finished Daniel, then came straight to Esther with about 3 weeks in between. I am in the 4th week of Esther now, and it just doesn''t measure up to Daniel at all. It is waaaay too girly. We did Daniel co-ed. With all the references to hormones, menstrual cycles and breasts, that could not be done with Esther. The Bible is for EVERYONE, not just women. Also, as the facilitator, the way the sessions are labeled is confusing......the introductory session ......then there''s "session one" ....... Can''t we just name the videos 1, 2, 3, 4.....10? It is a 10-week commitment, not nine. Are you trying to mislead us?
LifeWay Response:
Thanks for your feedback. There is no attempt to mislead as we want you to know exactly what you are getting. We are constantly trying to improve our information and will consider your suggestion, maybe include time commitments, as well as video breakouts.

5/17/2009 11:00:21 PM: some very dry weeks sprinkled with some great truths
I first must say that I have done all of Beth Moore's studies but two, and the women in my church and I thank God for Beth and her team's commitment to lead people into God's word. Her studies, overall, have been a tremendous blessing to all of us. Esther has some great historical content, but as far as feeding me the Word, it is not nearly as impacting as most of her studies. I feel that there is more opinion shared in this study and I needed to do additional devotional times because I was still hungry for the Word. I think that perhaps the book of Esther could have been done in 6 weeks with less personal interpretation/reflection and scholarly analysis. I only mention this for your prayerful consideration, as I'm sure there is a plan for a future study, and I would encourage your team to offer more Biblical study to, ultimately, let God's Word do the teaching.

3/5/2009 8:12:35 AM: Not enough
I love the book of Esther and this is my first time doing a study by Beth Moore and I am not really enjoying myself. There are moments when I get something but overall, I find that the videos are too long and there is not enough sustanance for me in the book. I know that her studies are not for everyone and I think I am one of those people.
