Pore & Paraphrase; Pull Out; Pose; and Plan & Pin—provide a way to thoroughly examine each Scripture passage. This method allows the reader to find the key principles in each Scripture and then relate them to a broad topic, while using the passage to reflect on her own walk with the Father.

We are finishing up with this study in our women''s small group and I am almost sad that it is ending. I love how this study places us directly in the word first and then is related to author''s life, rather than the Word being heavily filtered and interpreted by the author up front. The study sparked lively discussion in the group and much personal contemplation.

Loved the personal introductions, the tie-in with scripture. I got hung up with one word of her daily challenge- pore. Perhaps this should have been -pour. It was never fully explained.

11/3/2008 2:42:31 PM:   Overall, the 5 P''s are a great way to approach scripture.

We facilitated this study recently. We found that it is not well suited to a classroom setting. The provided Lesson Plan was just a sketch. We augumented the provided Lesson Plan with activities (for example, we brought in various sizes of balls and asked for a volunteer to "juggle"). I would recommend this study for individual study, but not for group study.

I found my self reading before and after each selection of Scripture to have a better understanding of what the passage was about. That was definitely helpful. Also, since it is a "conversation" with God, I would add one more "P" at the end. Prayer. I started writing my own prayer after each passage asking God to further reveal what He wants me to understand from His Word.

Though I applaud the author for looking at Scripture texts throughout the study (albeit the use of some poor translations), it was still thematically driven instead of text driven. I thought the study was just like many other women''s Bible study in that it was thematicaly driven (with usually the same issues discussed) as well as lacking solid Bible teaching. My biggest complaint is that random verses/texts are considered with no consideration to its context. The way the study is set-up, the reader is free to make their own applications of the text. Without proper guidance, the meaning of texts can be wrongly interpreted. Though it is a not a terrible study and though God via the Spirit can speak through His Word at His will, the study lacks depth, theological framework, good hermenuetical principles, and solid exposition of the Word.

I would consider the videos very short devotional clips. Nothing more. Certainly, in no way worth spending $150.00 for about 1 hr total video time. Also, the workbook contained no teaching material either. I want to exchange this for a Beth Moore study.
