This book pointed me directly to God. I cried out to him and he said that if I would take a step forward in faith, he would deliver me from my pit of recurring depression. I am starting to deal with the specific discouragements that cause me to fall into my pit. There are some things that I do not want to face but God is in charge and I need to trust him. If he can create the heaven and the earth and part the Red Sea, he can get me through this. I turn each new day over to God and ask him to lead me through it. I can't do it alone. I don't know how long this journey will take or where it will lead but I am on it now. Beth gave me an awareness of my vulnerability. God will heal me. I have a lot of books and usually lend them freely but I am hanging onto this one a little tighter for awhile. Part of the reason is the scripture-based prayers, which help me a lot. Thanks, Beth, for another great book. God is using you in my life (as he did with Breaking Free, Feathers from my Nest and a few others). Patriarchs may be next.

I wished these books were printed with paper backs.I want to send them to inmates at a Federal Detention center,but they are not allowed hardcovers. Can you help? Very informative

My wife loves this book. She rereads it often and keeps it on her nightstand. I just found out Beth is the 2009 Honorary Chairman for the National Day of Prayer. What a GREAT choice!

As a Pit-dweller, this book is so helpful for gettin out of whatever pit you are in. I have been in several, sometimes more than on at a time, if that is possible. I am still digging and clawing my way out, but I will be victorious through Jesus Christ! Beth tells it like it is! If you haven't read any of her books, start with this one!

It's easy to read in contemporary language--like the author is sitting across from you and being real--with great insight. I was immediately engulfed in it. I highly recommend it to anyone who is searching for upward movement in their life. Have already bought a 2nd copy and given it to a friend, and plan to give more.
