Living Free: Learning to Pray God's Word by
Beth Moore combines key concepts from Beth's best-selling Bible study:
Breaking Free for a more in-depth look at Christian freedom and explores the somewhat-radical idea that we cannot please God by being perfect. The study begins by defining false strongholds, then focuses on five key benefits for every believer, including how to find satisfaction in God and experience God's peace. Participants can learn how to develop a Godward focus in life, while beginning to incorporate the key benefits in their lives through practices of prayer and Bible study.
Participants will look at the nuts and bolts of the matter of pleasing God and answer the questions:
- How can we overcome persistent, defeating, devastating patterns of sin in our lives?
- How can we become so nonself-centered that we no longer focus on our own performance?
- How can we become so God-centered that we no longer want to pursue things that displease Him?
Multiple Uses include a short-term study, retreat study, or an introduction or follow-up to the Breaking Free Bible study. Schedule for six group sessions at your church, in homes, or in other convenient settings for your women's ministry or discipleship groups. Leader guidance is included in the book.
Promote your Bible study.

4/11/2002 10:48:08 AM: Lifted me up in knowledge that I never had before, Praise God for Beth Moore.
We are doing this study on Sunday nights in our church and the response is overwhelming among all of us. Everyone is Living Free now, thanks to the teaching on how to do it. We all need directions to live a life through prayer and Beth is teaching us how to do that. Thank you God, for your inspiration you give to Beth.

4/17/2002 12:00:52 AM: It's all about the prayer life...ie, conversation with God. Whoop.
I really liked this study. It is based on 'Breaking Free' and 'Praying God's Word,' but is a little more user-friendly. I completed it by myself because I was struggling, once again, in my prayer life. I felt stagnant and unmotivated to pray, and it was really affecting everything around me. Enter 'Living Free,' an amazing study on prayer, praying God's Word back to Him by taking His Word and making it your own. Example: From Exodus 14:14 (The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still)--"Lord, you know the struggle that I'm going through right now. I know you will fight it for me if I would just be still; please help me to be still, because you know how much I love to interfere." Suddenly, my prayers were more focused, more effective, and a whole lot more satisfying. My Scripture memory has improved, and I find verses I haven't thought of in years just popping into my head. It's really neat. I would definately recommend this workbook to anyone who struggles in their prayer life, anyone who is stagnant in their prayer life, or anyone who wants to rejuvinate their prayer life. See prayer in a whole new way, and talk to God using His Word. You will be blessed by this study, and you'll never look at prayer the same way again. :)

4/26/2002 9:28:05 AM: Wonderful Perception and Insight - really made me think....
This step by step study builds insight and perception into who we are and how we can base daily living on the foundation of Christ. I have been through the book twice and will do it again, learning new insights each time. I bought three other books to give to my mom, my sister, and my friend because I gained so much from it.

8/2/2002 2:08:37 PM: AWESOME! SPIRIT-FILLED!!
This study is an awesome follow up to Breaking Free! I waited about 3 months after Breaking Free till I did this one! It's good to wait, cause Living Free is a breif REMINDER of what it is to making "liberty in CHRIST a reality in life". When I started sensing bondage & deception after reading "When Godly people do ungodly things" I realized it was time to recap! All her stuff is recommended! Thank you Beth for your love for CHRIST!!!

I would like to see Beth write another book about more stronghold adding fear, anger, etc. I took the class Living Free and am spending a minimum of praying two hours a day from the current book.

11/2/2002 8:16:35 PM: I have personally seen women from all backgrounds deeply impacted.
As a Bible teacher, I love the flexibility of Living Free. I have taught Living Free to "church ladies" and I am currently teaching it to a little group of 12 women in a drug and alcohol rehab center out in the middle of the woods in Eastern Washington state! This study has challenged and blessed both groups! Last week a young woman looked up at me and said, "You mean I don't have to do anything? Jesus will set me free? I thought there was a list!" What a joy to see the smile that broke out on her face as the burden of being "good enough" was lifted by the Lord!

11/11/2003 8:32:14 AM: Caution: This study will change your life!
I finished the Breaking Free study recently, and my Sunday school class is now going through Living Free. Words cannot describe what God has done in my life through these studies. I've been a Christian for 25 years and feel as if I'm just now coming alive! Living Free is great because it focuses in on the 5 Benefits every believer has a right to enjoy, and shows you how to make them a reality in your life. The daily studies are brief enough for someone short on time, but if you're like me you'll find yourself savoring your time in the study and in the Word, not wanting it to end! Get the book-you won't regret it!

I really enjyed this study because it encouraged you to recognize and acknowledge the strongholds that were binding you away from a deeper relationship with God. Instructed you in how to break free of these strongholds. Thanks you, Beth.

It is concise with short daily lessons. However, it is packed with tremendous truths and aids for daily living as well as some serious 'house cleaning'. I recommend this to all - men and women.

Beth Moore just has a way of saying things in a way that I 'get it.' Unlike any other Bible study before, This one has been special to me. Learning to pray using the Holy Scriptures... learning to see what the obstacles in my spiritual life REALLY are... I have thorougly enjoyed this as a private, quiet-time study.

Great tool! Beth, all I can say is the Holy Spirit led you to write every word in this book. Thank you. I now understand and my spirit has grasped it. If others want to know too, then read the book and complete the short daily lessons. All I can say is WOW! This book allows you to carve away spiritual uncertainties and misunderstandings by guiding you actally where you need to go in the Holy Bible to deal with isses that we all have. Get it - we all need it. :)

1/17/2006 12:26:56 PM: Very good, but hard to relate at times
I very much liked that it talks about praying from scripture and helps teach how to do that. However, with our small group study, we found some of the concepts hard to follow and even harder to discuss....Overall, it was a good study though
