Using Puzzles to Teach Kids

What's a children's department without puzzles? Puzzles offer a great way to teach Bible stories through activities kids enjoy.

Tips for using puzzles as a teaching tool.

Guide children to remove puzzle pieces one at a time and place them to the left of the board. Working puzzles from left to right helps develop reading readiness.
Encourage children to complete the puzzle before moving to another activity.
Encourage another child to give assistance if a child becomes frustrated with a puzzle. Help children work puzzles with questions such as "What is missing?" and "Where does the largest piece go?"
Add excitement to the puzzle center by encouraging children to put puzzles together in different ways, such as putting a wooden puzzle together outside the frame.
Switch puzzles out frequently. Introduce a new puzzle by telling a Bible story that relates to the picture.
