Number 1: Anti-Christian Culture

Number 1: Anti-Christian Culture
"The stripping away of Christian heritage and traditional values."

Removing 'Christ' from Christmas, banning references to the 10 Commandments, outlawing public prayer... there seems to be a lot of resistance to acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God.

Why is the culture so sensitive to faith? Has a purely materialistic view of the universe become so dominant that matters of belief cannot be tolerated in public?

What principles of behavior and right dealing can serve as universal values in place of the Christian Gospel? Is a culture that enshrines absolute freedom and radical individualism safe from itself?

The answer is not known, but one thing is certain... if we continue on this path, it will be.

The number 1 topic facing today's family, as expressed by individuals from a range of backgrounds, is "Anti-Christian Culture."

Fewer and fewer of my children's friends from school have Christian upbringing, knowledge of God's Word and how it applies to them. Many of the parents don't even care.

The removal of prayer from school. The removal of the word Christmas from retailers advertisements and well wishers for their customers at the close of a sale. The challenges to Christ or His message being conveyed in any public way. These are all examples of how Christians are being attacked and degraded in our Faith every day! Retailers stand to make millions of dollars off of "Holiday" shopping, but vehemently refuse to acknowledge that Christmas is THE holiday which fuels these money making efforts. Christ is the reason for this celebration and retailers, politicians and those concerned with being politically correct should be more concerned with being historically correct.

Key Scriptures

Matthew 5:13-16
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Holman CSB
