One of the underlying characteristics of small groups is flexibility. Some groups meet every week, some monthly.  Meetings occur in living rooms, in basements, in churches. Some allow kids. All enjoy the radically unpredictable element of human nature and the various contributions of each member.

Small Group Life accommodates that flexibility. It takes the best of a casual, discovery-based environment and adds the quality of a biblically based resource that your small-group members need and deserve. Here’s a quick look at the unique benefits of Small Group Life:

  • Flexible. You can buy books on a subscription basis or at retail, or you can download customizable lessons online. Lesson ideas for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade are available as free downloads and are easy enough for a teenager to lead.

  • Affordable. Study guides for each member can cost as little as $14 for an entire year.

  • Streamlined. Each scene (lesson) can be completed in 50 minutes.

  • Easy. Leaders can be prepared in as little as five minutes. Leader notes are embedded in the study for seamless guidance, and a leader guide at the back provides more helpful hints for group facilitation.

  • Engaging. Each scene poses provocative questions that stimulate conversation and nurture spiritual growth.

  • Bible based. Perhaps the greatest reason to use Small Group Life is its adherence to biblically sound teaching and dedication to balanced spiritual development. Every lesson is rooted in the Bible. And each meeting will address LifeWay’s LifeSpan model:
    • Connect—A time for sharing the many stories of our lives
    • Grow—A time for Bible study
    • Serve/Go—A challenge to put words to action

Each Small Group Life Episode (study guide) includes six topics. Each topic has two scenes or small-group “Connect-Grow-Serve/Go” experiences, so each episode can be used as a 6- or 12-week study. Each member of the group should have a study guide. Leaders will want to order extras for visitors and members who join the group mid-episode.
