Alternate Route for cars only:  I-40 East - Exit Newport Highway 25/70 - Follow 25/70 (a two lane scenic road thru Hot Springs) to Weaverville - At the Lowes and Walmart, take 19/23 South also called I-26 East to Asheville - Follow 240 East to I-40 East and Exit 66 to Ridgecrest. (no additional travel time)

Ridgecrest is located 17 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, on Interstate 40, Exit 66, approximately 30 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and 18 miles from the Asheville Bus Station.

Driving Directions
The drive to Ridgecrest is absolutely beautiful through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

1.  From Interstate 40, take Exit 66 (Ridgecrest).
2. Turn left (if traveling east) or right  (if traveling west) onto
     NC-9 .2 mi  
3.  Turn right onto Old U.S. 70   .5 mi
4.  Turn left at Hemphill Rd   371ft (into the Ridgecrest entrance)

Directions From Asheville Regional Airport
To reach Ridgecrest by car from the airport, go west on I-26 toward Asheville; at junction of I-40, go east on I-40 to Exit 66. At the top of the ramp, turn left. Because the drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains is so beautiful, many Ridgecrest guests enjoy flying into airports in Charlotte, NC, Greensboro, NC or Knoxville, TN and driving the short remaining distance by car. This oftentimes is a more economical option as well as these larger airports generally offer discounted rates through the larger carriers such as Northwest, Delta, United, American, US Air and Continental.

Can anyone post the GPS coordinates? GPS systems will not bring people directly to my house, but GPS coordinates will get them to my front door, literally! Thanks!

I have not been able to find a physical address anywhere on the Ridgecrest website; not even the map and directions page. For those of us who you encourage to drive in, an address would really help us using our GPS units. Does anybody out there know where Ridgecrest REALLY is?

Regarding the question about GPS use, we have posted a note that the physical address Ridgecrest Conference Center uses does not work well with these devices. Your best option is to use the driving directions we've included on this page. (Ed.)

Try this: Hemphill Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711. This works on Google maps, Live maps and Mapquest. Not sure about GPS, but can't see why not.

Without a doubt a physical address would help greatly. When using Mapquest a 'start' and 'end' address is requested. As it now stands, I must address the "near-by town" then use the provided directions. Not that difficult (in fact) but certainly not convenient either. I don't understand the reluctance to provide a physical address.

I found the coordinates for Ridgecrest based on their shipping address of 1 Ridgecrest Drive, Ridgecrest, NC

According to Google and Mapquest, Hemphill Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711 puts you at the wrong exit (exit 64 instead of 66). Try 1 Tupper Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711 instead. At least, this will put you at the correct exit and in front of Ridgecrest's entrance.
