Let's Worship

Reader 1: Lord of love, we give You thanks and praise this morning for the mothers who have unselfishly nurtured us through the years.

Reader 2: We thank You for the mothers who kissed our hurts and dried our tears.

Reader 3: We thank You for the mothers who rejoiced in our victories and shared the sorrow of our defeats.

Reader 1: We thank You for the mothers who spent sleepless nights tending to our coughs and fevers.

Reader 2: We thank You for the mothers whose special touch created a safe, comfortable sanctuary we call home.

Reader 3: We thank You for the mothers who held our hands through the transitions of life.

Reader 1: We thank You for the mothers who loved us even when we were bad, and so showed us the meaning of faithfulness.

Reader 2: We thank You for the mothers who drew from an endless supply of optimism as they encouraged us to discover our strengths and test our wings.

Reader 3: We thank You for the mothers who, in the evening, knelt by our beds . . .

Reader 1: . . . and showed us how to pray . . .

Reader 2: . . . and how to trust in Jesus.

Reader 1: Today we honor those mothers whose unconditional love has made us strong,

Reader 2: and we honor those mothers whose commitment to their children is unwavering,

Reader 3: and we honor those mothers who raise their children in fear and respect of You.

Reader 1: Help all the mothers present today be bearers of Your redeeming love to their families.

Reader 2: Help us as parents and as a church to raise the little girls among us into strong women of God . . .

Reader 3: . . . that in them the world may see the tender and compassionate love . . .

Reader 1: . . . with which You have loved us from the beginning of time. We pray this prayer in the name of Christ. Amen.
