Tips for Promotion

Gary Chapman shares your vision for starting or developing marriage enrichment in your church. Toward A Growing Marriage events exist to help you provide biblically-based marriage enrichment to married couples of all ages, and engaged couples too. So get a group together to attend, you'll have a blast, and you'll see marriages in your church change for ever!

Here are tips for promoting Toward A Growing Marriage in your church:

Begin by commiting to bring a group from your church. Pray for God to stir the hearts of those who would benefit from this marriage-strengthening event.
Announce the conference during church services and to all adult Sunday School classes and small groups.
Gather promotional materials. Order brochures, posters, or promotional DVDs by e-mailing marriage@lifeway.com. Presentation slides, a bulletin insert, and a poster are available to download below.
- Show the 3-minute promotional DVD in your services and Sunday School or small groups.
- Display posters in high-traffic areas of your church building.
- Distribute brochures to all avenues of church fellowship, including Sunday School classes, small groups, church nursery, and others.
- Include the presentation slide in your services and at other events.
- Stuff church bulletins with inserts about the conference.
Set up a table in the lobby before and after services with brochures, signs, and a sign-up sheet. Staff with volunteers to answer questions.
List conference information in your bulletin for several weeks before the event.
Promote the conference as a gift for special occasions (anniversaries, engagements, weddings).
Send an e-mail to your church e-mail list (make sure you have permission from the addressees to use the list for promotion).
Use the church Web site to promote the event.
Invite friends, family, and newcomers to attend the conference.
Send postcards to your church/community mailing list.
Organize a phone campaign in your church among couples.

If your church is hosting the event, also

Announce the event on your church marquee.
Display posters in local stores or other places of interest.
Ask your local Christian bookstores to stuff flyers in shopping bags.
Ask your local Christian radio stations to announce the event — give away some free tickets!
