Why Be a Simulcast Host Church?

What if you could unite the churches in your community to reach out together in the name of Christ? What if you could fill your seats with women of different denominations and women who had never entered the walls of a church? With enthusiasm, prayer, and a satellite dish, Linda David, a Living Proof Life Simulcast host church coordinator in Albany, OR, did just that. In a letter to LifeWay’s Simulcast Coordinator, Patricia Murphy, Linda wrote:

It was wonderful to see women from as far as two hours from our town attending the simulcast in our building.  Women of every age and stage – worshipping and learning together.  It was wonderful!
Amy Cogswell, Northland Christian Church, Topeka, KS

So rich and powerful. The worship was great, the message was life-changing and god used it – that’s the best part. Everyone had an encounter with the living God!
Jerri McGarrah, Salem First Church of the Nazarene, Salem, OR

Our event was a great success! Everyone was so blessed by the message and the messenger. Our lives are forever changed.  We can hardly wait until next year.
Dianne Borders, Calvary Baptist Church, Oxford, AL

God took care of every detail. Things went very well.  Each lady felt that the message Beth Moore brought was meant just for them.  God will continue to use this in a mighty way.
Regina Moroy, Bethany Christian Church, Dallas, GA

This is such a wonderful opportunity for believers from various denominations to come together as one to worship. That doesn’t happen often in our community, and in fact, most churches here resist that—a spirit of “competition” prevents that.  But the walls are coming down, in large partly because of this event (the second simulcast we have hosted).  We all received “a Word.”
Kay Adkins, First Baptist Church, Mountain View, AR

I heard so many people say, “It was like she was talking directly to me. What Beth said is exactly what I needed to hear from God.”  I know that we had people including myself that were tremendously moved by this event.
Donna Heidel, First United Methodist Church, Yazoo City, MS

Our church and our community were blessed by God by during this event.  It was awesome to se women of all ages, races, and denominations come together to worship and learn about the one true God! We are fired up for Jesus, and ready to go out and do some good.  Thank you all.
Bob Moore, First United Methodist Church, Russellville, AR

Testimonials like this came in from across the country about LifeWay’s 2009 Living Proof Live simulcast event with Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell. Some 95,000 attendees joined together from 715 churches across the country and at our live site in Louisville, KY. Across the nation there were hundreds of decisions to receive Christ as Savior with the youngest being a 6-year-old girl and the oldest (reported) of an 89-year-old woman.

“Stories like Linda’s should be more prevalent in 2009 due to our new flat-fee pricing structure,” said Paige Greene, director of women’s training and events at LifeWay. “We listened to the churches last year who asked us to do away with the more expensive ticket-based pricing model and are going with one flat fee. Churches will be able to afford to fill their buildings with women who can worship together and hear the Word of God. It will have great potential for outreach for churches within their communities to reach the lost and unchurched.”

LifeWay opened registration for their 2009 Living Proof Live Simulcast with Beth Moore on January 16. The live event and satellite broadcast will take place from Green Bay, WI, on Aug. 28-29, 2009.

“Beth was actually born in Green Bay so we are really taking her ‘home’ in a sense. Via satellite, churches from across the country can literally bring her home to their church,” said Paige. “It is going to be an incredible weekend. We even gave Beth a Wisconsin cheese head hat in honor of her return!”

In her 2008 post-event evaluation Melissa Carroll of The Chapel in Sandusky, OH, said, “What a mind-boggling experience to worship our Lord and Savior with some 70,000 (actually 95,000) other women at the same time with Beth and Travis at the helm leading our worship to Him. Words can not begin to describe the thrill of it all. We love you Lord Jesus! We had 17 women rededicate their lives!”
