Becoming a Peacemaker: Resolving Conflict God’s Way
Our different spiritual gifts, personalities, ideas and opinions can make ministering together complicated. Although conflict is a common component of human relationships, many of us fear conflict and seek to avoid it at all cost. As believers, we are called to respond to conflict in ways that honor God and reveal His character to others. These are just a few of the reasons why effective conflict resolutions skills are essential to godly leadership. Learn more about the dynamics of conflict, consider what the Bible has to say concerning conflict, develop effective biblical strategies for dealing with conflict that honor God and practice some vital skills needed for healthy, productive resolution of conflict.
Emerging Culture: Organic Ministry in Today’s World
God is very popular, but church is not. How can we assist women in becoming connected to God and to church? Where do women fit into today's church? Are women today different than the women of yesterday's generation? Oh yes! "Stress", "busy", and "multi-tasking" are words that describe most women today. Delve into defining today's culture, examine the effects of the emerging culture on ministry and leadership, define the woman of the emerging culture, and discover ways to engage today's woman. Learn how to connect with women of all generations in today's culture and overcome the obstacles of the emerging culture to reach women through organic relationships.
His Story, Her Way — Parts 1, 2, and 3
Discover the power found in ordinary life stories. God can draw from all of our life experience to connect with other women in everyday conversations. These simple stories offer Spirit-filled platforms to share life-changing "hope" found in Jesus Christ.
Life in Ministry As a Woman
Serving in leadership roles, whether on staff or not, brings new challenges and responsibilities to women that sometimes seem overwhelming. Acquiring skills to help navigate these new opportunities can be challenging but rewarding. Women in ministry can learn to use their relational abilities to benefit others. They can explore way to increase their skills in effectively communicating with male staff members. They can set healthy boundaries and balances to make the challenges less daunting and more exciting. And yes, they can effectively minister when all their efforts are supported with personal disciplines that keep them close to the Lord.
Plugging People into Ministry
We've all heard the 80/20 rule... 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Let's be the generation that breaks that rule! Look at Christ's example of building teams and learn tools we can use to build a Dream Team such as: Communication, Innovation, Preparation, Inspiration, and Evaluation. We must help people find their "sweet spot" in ministry! Your ability to build and grow effective dynamic ministry teams in the foundation to taking your ministry to the next level and maximizing ministry in your generation. It is imperative that we equip, encourage and empower the team to carry out the vision God has given your church to reach and disciple those to which He has called you to minister.
Visioneering, Revisioning, and Personal Consultation
Do you ever just need to step back, think about where you are and where God wants you to be in your women’s ministry, and re-evaluate your strategy? Do you just need some time to spend quietly thinking about the overall picture of where your women are? Join this session for a practical ‘hands on” experience. Bring your ideas, concerns and plans, work on them with your team or independently as a leader directs you through this process. Ask questions and get direction as you seek to dream God’s dream for your women’s ministry. Enjoy exciting interaction and brainstorming with other leaders as we share the challenges and joys of women’s ministry.
Becoming a Peacemaker: Remix
No time for the extensive track on conflict resolution? You can still learn the basics of conflict resolution and discover how to respond to conflict in ways that honor God. This condensed "Becoming a Peacemaker" session briefly explores why conflict occurs, potential benefits of healthy conflict, the difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper, and the different ways people respond to conflict. Better understand why the church is so vulnerable to conflict and about God’s plan for healthy conflict resolution.
CWWW: Connecting With Workplace Women
In a typical church, working women make up more than half of the female membership. They represent a strategic ministry target for all women in leadership! God wants each woman who earns wages outside of the home to see her workplace as a place to be salt and light to those around her. Our task is finding ways to connect and encourage her.
Engaging The Younger Woman In Ministry
Everyday young adult women are being discipled by culture, rather than by the unchanging Word of God. Many young adult women feel isolated, disengaged, and overlooked in the context of the local church. They are single, married, and in all the stages in between, and they are in desperate need of you! As we study Scripture together, become encouraged to engage young women in your current ministry to women. This workshop includes Biblical teaching on the importance and the how-tos of discipling young women, a group discussion, personal testimonies on how to involve young women in leadership, and a look at official LifeWay research on young adults. Leave with practical application for your current ministry as it relates to this influential generation God is raising up!
A Leader’s Life and Legacy: Pouring and Influencing from a Full Vessel (for advanced leaders who have lead a team 5 years or longer)
A look at the life of the long time women’s ministry leader, encompassing her personal intimacy with Christ, relationships with peers, and how she is commanded to continue to equip and grow her leadership team from the life lessons God is teaching her. This sessions also looks at some of the difficult scenarios that arise in established leadership, from handing discrepancies in the lifestyle of a leader, holding leaders to commitment, and developing a team to be crosscultural and culturally engaging today’s world.
Life-Changing Bible Study
We know Bible study is important, but how does God use His Word to change lives? What is the true measure of a successful Bible study? Explore these and other important questions as we seek to develop more effective Bible study experiences. This session also considers ways to help women move beyond the pursuit of knowledge to lasting life change, effective use of resources, and ideas for creating a culture of continuous transformation through Bible study.
Mentoring Women
Regardless of age, women should always be in the process of mentoring others and being mentored by others. What is mentoring and what is involved in being a mentor? What is the best way to encourage mentoring in your church? Mentoring is role modeling. It is using those “been there, done that” experiences in our lives to help other women through similar circumstances — coming alongside another woman to teach her to seek God’s Word and the One who has all the answers. Are you effectively leading a mentoring ministry in your church?
Ministering in Crisis: When You Don't Know What to Say
All of us know women who are hurting. God has hope for the hurting. We are His chosen vessels to show His tender care and concern for the hurting. We have all searched for the right words to say when someone is hurting. Look at types of crises women experience, how to respond biblically, and discover that it is okay to not have all the answers.
Ministering in Crisis: Not Just Band Aids, Practical Helps
Women are fixers! We like to roll up our sleeves and get busy helping women in crisis. But sometimes, we just do not know how to get started or what to do. Look at some practical things we can do to help hurting women and their families and discuss applicable ways to answer the question, “What can I do to help? “.
Ministry to Women Whose Husbands are Not Spiritual Leaders
We have a large representation of married women in our churches who attend church alone. Either their husbands are not Christians, or they are not the spiritual heads of their home. These women desire to grow in Christ and lead their children to do the same. How can we help them continue to grow while respecting and submitting to their husbands as godly women? We will discover ways to pour into these lives so that they can grow in Christ and possibly their husbands may be won over without a word by the way their wives live, when they observe their pure, reverent lives (1 Peter 3:1-2).
Pursuing Holiness as a Godly Leader
"But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15) Do you know how to pursue holiness in the perverse world in which we live? What is God's part in this pursuit? And what is our responsibility? Take a realistic look at our world by diving into the pursuit of holiness, and learn how to model a holy life to the women in our churches. Concludes with a time of reflection and direction.
