Breaking Free: Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life by Beth Moore, leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, this in-depth study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today’s believers.

I have a greater desire to be in God's Word. "Breaking Free" is helping me see the necessity for communicating with God daily. It is challenging me to peel my onion!- tearing off the layers and reaching down deep into the core issues of my struggle for freedom as a Christian. I am learning (not finished with the study) that without freedom in Christ I will never be all that God wants for me to be, nor will I be satisfied with anyone or anything else but God. The material is enabling the ladies in my women's Bible study to be vulnerable with and draw strength from each other as sisters in Christ. It is Life changing! I and the other ladies in my study look forward to our lessons each week.

I love Beth Moore. Although she will probably never know who I am, I will love her forever. When I watched her first video, I said to my dearest friend, (who did the daily studies with me each day) I want to love God like she does! I had no idea that this study does just that. I am totally in love with God...my cup runneth over. My life is changed. I wish I could write my testimony because many miracles occured in my life while doing this study. Including spiritual warfare that has led my husband of 11 years to brokenness and repentence. I just wait for him to ask Jesus in. Every day the study dealt with what I was struggling with at that time. I am forever bonded to Beth even though she doesn't know me. I have experienced God's love lavished on me to the fullest! I want to go deeper! Oh I wish I could put it into words! We completed the last day of the study last night. My heart breaks. I can't imagine a better Bible study to go on to from here. She is truly annointed. Truly. I am blessed. And most of all...I AM FREE!!!!!

I did this study with three friends of mine while I was living on board the MV Doulos. It was absolutely amazing. I really liked the way that she was real with us. She opened up her life to her readers, and made it so that we knew that what she said was not just her preaching at us, but that she also practiced it. I really enjoyed how there was Greek and Hebrew references to the passages she used. It really opened up the Bible to me in a way I thought would never be possible. I am a totally different person, and this study played a major part in it. God used Breaking Free in a way that was completely unbelievable to me. I have never completed a Bible study before and nothing has touched my life as much. My love for Christ has grown so much. I never thought that a relationship with Him could be so awesome and real.

This study has helped me to better myself as a Christian. Although I am just on Week 3 of the study I know that despite all of the obstacles that our women's group is facing I will personally continue to do this study. Our group has had several major problems and will probably discontinue b/c of these problems, but I have gotten so much out of this study already that I will continue on and learn as much as can from it. I will deeply miss the video each week, but the book itself is amazing. Each day that I sit and do my study I learn so much and pray that the next day I will be able to learn that much more. I encourage everyone to do this study and stick with it despite the challenges that life may throw your way.

The language is up to date and is easy to understand. What I like best about this study is it helps me to dig into the truth of God, understand more in details about myself and Satan. If we are to fight an enemy. The first preparation we have to do is to know our enemy. Breaking Free doesn't just pry open the darkest side of me and the world. It also comforts me with God's assurance of freedom and liberty. Freedom and liberty is just a dream. It also could be reality. The choice is yours!

I have not finished the study yet, but I am on week five. One thing that I find amazing is that I am using the things that I learn in this study to witness to people. I am currently writing down some information for one of my husband's professors at school who is very anti-Christian. He told her my testimony on how God has worked a lot of things out in my life and she said, "That is truly amazing!" He gave all the credit to God and said that I was doing this Breaking Free bible study that has helped me tremendously. She is actually listeneing and receiving the Gospel! Thank you Beth Moore!!!

I have been "leading" this study with 10 women from our church. When we started I knew I wanted closer intimacy with the Lord, but never did I dream that through this study He would begin to uncover areas of my life that have needed addressing for years! Chapter by chapter, Breaking Free has walked our group through a reconstruction process that is life changing. We were unable to afford the video tapes to accompany the workbook, but did buy the audio tapes and have listened to them instead. I highly recommend using the audiotapes or videotapes to supplement the workbook--the teaching is outstanding. The tapes are not just reviews of the workbook chapters, but add immensely to what the workbook is teaching. I would not do the study without the tapes.

I have not personally done this study. I have watched my wife and daughter's, along with the other ladies doing the study with them, lives changed. So much so, that it is blessing me. I did get to watch one lesson and it was powerful. I was so impressed with the changes in these womens' lives that I'm sending a leader kit to my brother and his wife in Tennessee so they can do the lesson with their three grown children.Also, my oldest daughter who lives in Alabama, (one of three) come to find out, has been leading a group of girls in this same study and are getting the same results. I was very impressed with this teaching as I could tell Beth was where she was talking about and you could definitely feel her pain, hurt, joy, peace and happiness throughout the whole teaching session. I have been so set free however, there has been many attacks from the evil one since we finished this course at the end of March, 2001. This was the third study we have done, A Heart Like David, the study on Paul. It is so amazing as the Calvary Baptist Church in State College, Pa, purchases them and shares the videos with other churches. I am from the State College Assembly of God. God is doing amazing things in bringing unity to the body of Christ in our community. May God richly bless Beth and her staff.

I liked the fact that this study tackled the issues that we as Christians tend to ignore. We see fellow Christians with certain problems, and we may even know they battle things from the past, but most of us don't know how to relate to them, or help them. THIS STUDY HELPS PEOPLE ! Also, I had a "Beaver Cleaver" childhood, but I got so much out of this study. I was the leader of our group, and it humbled me to get a deeper understanding of those who suffered in their past. I went to this Bible study to get to know the women of this church better. The Leaders chuckled about this because they knew I was in for a real spiritual awakening. As I did this study I involved my children to give men their opinions about what they felt were things that we were in bondage to and things that neede changing. We as a family were truely blessed by this. My daughter in law is in the midst of this study and now we compare notes on how we are changing together. I feel so free since this study. The old is gone and I have put on the new. I feel like this other person has left and I am now a new me. I will be ever grateful to Beth Moore for writing this study it truely put me at the feet of Jesus where I've always wanted to be. If anyone is very unhappy in their marriage, or life in general and your life needs a "Jesus Clean-up" this will do it.

I grew up with alot of evil intentions to destroy me. Only God can repair the emotional damage in our lives and then use it as a strenght for His glory. I was very impressed that prior to this study, God used the similiar bibical way of setting me free that Beth with her indept study and obedience collaborated in Breaking Free. I think there should be a breaking free for every christian to pave the way to heaven. Seems to help unpack and discard the unnecessary garbage we tend to carry with us and hold on to. God loves us so much, if we love Him; He won't allow the excess garbage to weigh us down in our walk with Him. This study really ministered to me, we are having one with 20 or more women in our church Monday and Thursday evenings and I know it will them also!!

I am LOVING this study. I'm in the 5th week, and I have never read a study like it (except for Beth Moore's _other_ studies)! This week she was dealing with child abuse, and as a victim of child abuse, I have never read anything that helped me so much--to understand the rammifications of the abuse and depths to which it extended in my soul, without being allowed to make excuses for a "victim mentality" or resulting sin. I definitely recommend it for anyone, but especially those who are/were victims of any kind of abuse, and those who want to break harmful patterns of generational sin. I am doing this study on the heels of coming out of a long depression which was a result of not being in the Word consistently for several years. I do not want to exalt Ms. Moore, but I will say that God has given her a message for women of our time, and we would do well to heed it! Thank you, Lord, for your truth, healing, LOVE and FREEDOM!

As a ladies home group leader for some very skeptical, world hardened women, I was amazed when each week one or more of them was in tears over how God was revealing Himself to them and how He wanted them to change and grow in Him. It has brought about healing that hasn't been there for many in decades. We were all skeptical not knowing anything about Beth Moore and decided we would give it a 3 week trial,WOW! What a study. Only three made it to the end but our lives are forever changed because of it. To all who are starting, cover your group with immense prayer daily through it because the evil one will throw EVERYTHING at you all to discourage you from doing it. He knows it changes lives and leads people to the cross where victory lives! Freedom is truly possible sisters, I had no idea how much I was living in bondage and how wonderful it would be to be free. She gave me(explained) the Biblical truths I needed to be set free so I could freely worship without always feeling that God could never forgive me for falling away and that when I confessed my sins, asked for forgiveness, and turned back to Him, He really does forgive me and accepts me back. What I did not like is that I don't have the full product line. I have been asked to put together a curriculum for young women who have been involved in abuse both sexually and emotionally and was given this book amoung others to use to build it from. I have been walking through this myself and since some of this has been my experience, this book has already helped me. I have a question. Do you think this will be the most effective tool to use with young girls ages 9 - 21, who have been sexually molested, involved in teenage prostitution, and emotionally abused through sexual activity?

Breaking Free is the first Beth Moore Bible study I have ever taken and I must tell you I loved it. God has annointed Beth to teach the word of God as never done before. Just as Beth warned, the 1st few weeks of homework were hard but ooh when things started coming together the Lord did surgery on my heart. I began to understand why I did and reacted to things. It allowed me to look back at my family and their beliefs and God so beautifully revealed to me why my parents may have did things the way they did and it was all done with such love. I now no longer blame them, I now recognize why I did things and why they did what they did. This is essential in moving on and removing the bondages. May the Lord continue to bless you Beth!

I am leading a group of 25 women through this study and am amazed at the awesome way God is using this to teach His life-changing truths to these women (and myself!). Beth's life is a testimony to the power of God working through humility, transparency, and a heart completely devoted to Him. Her example of how to be committed to knowing and believing the Word of God in depth, in a personal and real way is a true blessing to me. In this study, God is using these Scriptures to carefully and methodically reveal areas in our life that are holding us captive- no matter how big or how small- (as she says, even a thin thread can choke the life out of us!) and guiding us into real and practical life applications that are setting us free for a life full of completeness, joy, and a deep love for our God. I liked the way this study tackled the ‘tough’ issues in a comfortable manner. It bought times of laughter and crying. It helped me realize that there were areas in my life where I had strongholds even though I came from a loving Christian family. I especially like the fact that it was personal, not about Beth Moore’s life but about me. The fact that she was so open and sharing about her own life made it comfortable to acknowledge personal strongholds.

A group of 5 ladies went through this study together. Every one of us came away with greater freedom in Christ! I was the facilitator. Now I'm going through it again with another group of ladies. It seems pointless to add my raving review to all of these, but how can I resist? Praise GOD for the AMAZING way He is working thru' Beth's studies. After having been in a serious stronghold myself, I totally agree with Beth that women who are truly free have fought to overcome some hindrance in their lives. Please let Beth be the hand that God uses to change your life -- DO this study! You will never be the same and praise God for that!

I was introduced to the study in a difficult time of life. It completely changed my way of thinking about myself. And the it was voiced by somebody who knew me for years she said: what kind of study did you do to make you change so dramatically? She is now attending a 2nd round of this study and this time I'm leading it. Most of all, by doing it another time, I get a 2nd blessing of it, showing me areas in my life which were not yet touched by the first time I did the study.

Thank you LORD JESUS for using your vessel Beth Moore in such a way as to woo the Bride of Christ back into your arms of FREEDOM! This study was amazing! I completed it with a small group of college girls about a year ago and I honestly cannot count how many times the Lord broke our hearts and swept us into a new level of transparency with one another. I still look back on this study and can honestly say that Jesus changed my life through it, set me free from all of the baggage that we think we ought to carry! Praise God!

What an amazing study into God's Word - and this study DOES delve deep into the Word of God. A group of us are doing the study and reflecting once every two weeks - THIS is "where it's at"... each day of study for me has been such a stretching time in my spiritual walk with Christ, that having a couple days to ponder and think on my growth has been ideal. Doing it any faster would be too rushed. I am seeing God and Jesus in a whole new light - who I am with their reflection, but MOST importantly who T H E Y are!!! Thank you, Jesus, for using Beth Moore to build this study...

During this study, I entered into a Holy romance. All my life I had been looking for valadation that led me further and further into bondage resulting from poor choices, empty searching and damaging events. During this study I came to know Christ in a way, that I had never known Him before. I became His pure, beloved. I experienced His complete and Holy love for me and was set free to feel completely loved, validated and beautiful. This allowed me to heal from my past and let those currently in my life off the hook to provide this for me. God was truly the author of this study through Beth Moore and I will forever be thankful to them both.

We are blessed to be doing this study as a group of women from Calvary Chapel-The Bridge. We are all riveted each week to the video as Beth Moore is used by God to take us on a journey of ourselves. This books digs deep into the heart of all women and examines it's core like no one but Jesus can. Beth has used her own pain and suffering for the greater good of the kingdom of God. PRAISE HIS NAME, as that is not easy! Every week you grow closer and closer to God, while peeling away more and more of yourself! It is not a shameful peeling, it is a freeing, life changing peeling that will bring liberty to captives....that as Christians, may not even know they are!

God blessed our bible study group in mighty ways as we did this study together. I had no idea how important having someone lovingly and empathetically walking me through breaking those strongholds would be. Emotionally, deeply I wanted to skip a couple of the chapters that brought back memories. But my Abba Father knew it was time. Breaking free of the guilt and bitterness of my childhood happened just days before the person that caused that pain passed away. God has used Beth Moore's willingness to teach in mighty ways. I agree that the video is a powerful part that keeps you involved in this study.

I loved the biblical references for every facet of the study. The Bible actually spoke to me in a way I never knew possible. I could relate to all the experiences cited by Beth in her walk. The study made living the victorious life believeable in the face of day to day challenges. I found a way to love God and see him as the true authority in my life. I was freed of some very old strongholds. I am out of my cell and I ask God for continued strength to see His Truths. God bless you Beth and I thank God for making you such a powerful vessel in the lives of many. My mother passed during the time I was taking this study and God gave me joy, unspeakable joy to help my family and myself.

I you allow God to take you through this journey He can show you many things about yourself and give you many revelations that you otherwise may not be able to humanly hear from Him. The Spirit through Beth Moore is so real and true and faithful, this could certainly change your life. I have done this study with non Christians-stuggling for answers, new Christians and mature Christians--and everyone can get out of it what they put into it. You have to let God guide you through this study, be in continual prayer about what He wants to show you about you.

I did this Bible study with a group about three years ago. It, along with the kind ladies in the group and the small church we attended, pulled me back into a relationship with God that I had let lapse for almost 20 years. It is so filled with pure truth. The things I wrote in the workbook, and the truths I discovered about myself started a hard but truly soul-saving journey. I threw the workbook away when we moved, afraid someone would find it with all my personal comments inside!!!... but now I am going to buy it again for a review. I really recommend this. It is awesome! It will help you find your strength. It will help you let go of what should be let go. :-)

I've just completed Breaking Free. This is probably the most intense study I've experienced. I've learned so much. I loved the journey that this study took me on. One that will live in me for the remainder of my days. I have been praying to Him for some time to give me "the spirit of wisdom and revelation" so that I could know Him better. He has blessed me so by this study, as it is through Him provided me just that, to know Him better. This is the beginning a a more joyous and closer walk with my King and my God. I thank you and I thank God for you. I tell people that it isn''t an issue of Beth Moore being someone to ''worship''. She is like so many people of God before her. She has a gift from HIM. She takes the word and presents it to people like a master chef would prepare a great, edifying meal. This is what she does for a world of ''Ethiopian ''well'' eunichs! Maybe we could come up with another scenario of someone riding along in a chariot or an SUV maybe:-)

Don't get me wrong: I loved this study. It really really really helped me. However, I kept wishing that it would go into more depth on each stronghold and each benefit. I believe that a whole book on each one or one maybe two strongholds or areas of struggle would be extremely life-changing. I felt that this book scratched the surface of some very important topics. For example, I thought the section on thinking about generational curses or familial trends was very interesting. I would have loved to have gone into great depth on that, to be helped through it. Perhaps what I'm looking for is better found with a Christian counselor, but I think it could be done in a book format too. So, my purpose is not at all to criticize. I love Beth Moore's books, and am on my 6th member book. In fact, I love them so much that I just want more. Greedy, I am. But it's greedy for good things, and I hope that's okay. I have been extremely blessed by Beth's writing. There are some who will say that these studies are too related to personal experiences, or too emotion-oriented. However, I think those people are thinking only with their heads. They are not hearing the cry of many women to connect to God with the love and depth of their hearts, as well as their minds.

I am in this study for the second time and am still not "getting it" I guess. I have a college degree so I can read and comprehend, usually, but this study is very difficult for me. I really feel it is more for mature Christians. However, I have loved the other 2 studies I've done of hers and will certainly not give up!

Unfortunately, Beth Moore has taken Isaiah, which is a book solely for the Israelites, who ARE God's chosen people and attempted to apply it to Gentiles. As Gentiles we do have promises that we can claim but not from this book. It is as though she wanted to make a point by twisting God's word to fit her need, but in during this she misled many believers. This should never occur with sound theology.
