Not so at all! We would love parents to take their children with them to the service if they feel they should do so. We wanted to help those who were struggling with leaving their infant with someone else at church for the first time. Thanks for your comment about the May 2010 issue of ParentLife. (Eds.)

I was disappointed when reading Growth Spurts birth to 12 months in this month's issue. It implies that the only option when taking your baby to church is the nursery. I have 4 daughters, the youngest of which is now 6. I took all of them into church service with me from the time they were born. Children are like sponges from birth to age 5 and I wanted to take advantage of that time to teach them that being in church was important. Three of my girls have accepted Christ at an early age. I don't think this would have happened if they had been playing in the nursery. I think parents should always feel that their children, regardless of age, are always welcome in any service. Children will ask questions about what goes on in service and this provides many teachable moments.
