2009 LifeWay Mission Trip to South Dakota

Mission Event:
The LifeWay team will be working with the Dakota Baptist Convention as they minister at the Sturgis Bike Rally. Team members will share the gospel with the bikers as they register to win a motorcycle in the Convention’s booth. Team members will also have the opportunity to engage other bikers at the rally. Honesty, transparency and compassion are required of each volunteer as they share the grace and love of Jesus Christ.

 

Fast Facts:

• Located at the base of the northeastern Black Hills, Sturgis is known as the City of Riders.
• The city is arguably home to the world’s largest motorcycle rally and 2008 will mark the 69th Annual Sturgis Rally.
• The city is home to 6,500 people, but hosts more than half a million people during the week of the rally.
• Temperatures in August can range from mid 60’s to low 100’s.
