Life Connections - Bible Study That Builds Community
Christians thrive in community, and Life Connections was created to help build it.
Each session begins in a large-group setting with ice-breaker questions and introductory material. Then everyone breaks into small groups for deeper discussion of the topics. This format gives groups the strengths of both models - the energy and excitement of large groups with the intimacy and depth of small groups.
There are 16 different Bible studies in the series, covering a wide variety of topics, such as books of the Bible, discipleship, and living life.
- The leader book contains useful tools that help minimize prep time, including step-by-step directions in the margins, as well as discussion and discovery questions for in-depth Bible study and excellent fellowship.
- A corresponding youth series is available, so both age groups can study the same topic, but with lessons written specifically for each.
Ideal for Large, Established Adult Groups
If community is defined as “a unified body of individuals,” then building Christian communities on God’s Word is what Life Connections is all about. Designed for groups of 15 to 50, Life Connections divides participants into subgroups of six to eight for small-group interaction in the context of a master-teacher approach. The mission of each small-group, or community, is to create a new community by growing and continuing to subdivide.
This relationship-oriented resource offers many study options each quarter - ten to be exact! What’s more, each topical study contains 13 sessions and can be used in any sequence either on Sunday mornings or in other Bible study settings.
Life Connections Leader Book
The NIV-based Leader Book contains directions in the margins, including the corresponding Student Book page numbers. Using a master-teacher format, facilitators enlist others to lead small groups that continue to subdivide, creating more leaders.
Included are:
- Suggested transitional statements that help move teachers easily from one section of the study to the next
- Focal Scripture passages for each study for ease of use
- Handy “notes” boxes on which to write pertinent information
- Underlined answers to questions revealed during the master-teacher time
- Horseshoe icons that designate each subgroup time
- Order one per leader, plus an extra for substitutes
