Reader Comments:

I have been very impressed with this material. I am Sunday School director and I am also teaching an adult class with MasterWork. It is super material. You ask one question, and it is on! I have yet to cover everything in my outline.

I have two thoughts on it.

First, I wanted to get people a help that would encourage them in their daily devotions. When the material is particularly exciting this definitely does the trick. I don't expect all Bible study to be "exciting" for everyone, but it is transformational and necessary - so we plug along with the hopes that others would do it even if the topic isn't a hot point for them.

Secondly, I am impressed, and not, concerning the studies that they have chosen. On one hand you have people like Lutzer who are solid biblical study teachers who challenge and lift up the reader with wonderful biblical truths. On the other hand you have some poor Bible study from big-named people that is hard to reconcile before the church. When you read comments like Joseph was not a man of God, but got a little revenge with his brothers... Or "affirmative action with a religious twist" (as one reviewer called it) with David Anderson's "Gracism," which makes a few good points but uses his own life instead of the Word of God to make his point. Most of his points could be valid if taken from a Scriptural perspective.

Overall the study is pretty good, but you must be prepared for some teaching that has as much opinion in it as it does anything else.

I would recommend this for adult Sunday School, but I would recommend that you also be prepared to discuss things that are opinion, especially if you have new believers in your classes as I do.
