GROW: Outreach Teams That Win

GROW was designed to be a fun outreach ministry that is fun and that your church folk look forward to! "GROW" is an acronym for "God Rewards Our Work." "GROW” works to cultivate commitment among those who are willing to be involved in outreach once a month. As involvement increases, commitment grows!

With different levels of participation, GROW involves more of your church members in outreach. Participants can be involved in outreach once a month through visitation, letter writing, or phone calling. As GROW progresses the number of participants will increase. Outreach grows from one, to two, and three and finally four weeks a month.

The key to administrating GROW are captains assigned to each of the three ministry areas: visitation, letter writing and phone calling. These captains are responsible for enlisting church members to visit, write letters, or make phone calls. The GROW training kit provides the video training for captains to use when training those they enlist.

GROW also produces many fresh and hot prospects. Those writing letters and making phone calls can identify prospects who would really welcome a visit. Visitation teams will become more motivated when they make visits that have been set up by phone callers.

One pastor reported that when asked to commit to weekly visitation, he received a 10% response. When he asked for 16 hours a year (once a month) which GROW requires he received a 60 percent response. Those who signed up for GROW found themselves increasing their commitment and becoming increasingly involved in outreach. GROW works especially well with the witness training program, Share Jesus without Fear.

The GROW training kit includes videos of four (4) one hour sessions, a member book and a paper back book. Also included is a floppy disk with Word files of many of the administrative helps such as Prospect Search Card, Sunday Worship Registration Card, GROW Captain responsibilities, etc.

Our communities are in desperate need of Jesus. Church leaders are busy, yet very likely to commit to once-a-month outreach through "GROW."
