Have You Heard? Passion Conference Returns to Nashville, Wedding Bells for Brother's Keeper
October 11, 2005--There's always a lot going on in the world of Christian Entertainment. Here are some tidbits that came across our desk recently…
Wedding Bells in the air. Brother’s Keeper band member John Sanders popped the question to his girlfriend of six months, Kari Finlay of Dannville, Ind. The surprise engagement took place at Niagara Falls on July 31, prior to the famed fireworks display.
LOVE Those Llamas! Rocketown recording artist Ginny Owens recently spent a morning with K-LOVE's Jon and Sherry Rivers at their farm in Texas. In addition to making friends with the Rivers' llama, Owens joined the couple on-air for the morning show and offered several live performances of songs from her Oct. 11 release Long Way Home, including the first single, Fellow Traveler, and the album's title cut.
Music from the Hart. Brave New World, a new song by Sarah Hart — a two-time Unity Award winner and the founding member of the group Daughters of God — was recently featured on Lifetime Television's hit TV show Strong Medicine. The show, which follows the lives of health care employees at a fictional women's clinic in South Philadelphia, selected Brave New World for use in Broken Hearts, episode 11 of season six. The track — which hails from Hart's newly released album Into These Rooms — was included in the program that delved into the topics of Down Syndrome, transplant surgery, and AIDS, and featured leading actors Rick Schroder and Rosa Blasi.

Will Play for Food. The Will Play For Food Tour is moving to a mini-festival format, the Will Play For Food Weekend. The two-day format will feature Christian artists, speakers, and an emphasis on service. Participating artists and speakers will seek to inspire concertgoers to engage the world around them and sacrifice some luxuries as an expression of their concern for the poor. The Will Play For Food Tour inspired more than 600 people to sponsor children through international organizations and encouraged thousands of others to participate in World Week, join a short-term missions team, or serve the poor close to home.
