Andy Savage spends his days “making God make sense” to young adults. As the primary speaker of The Loop, a weekly single adult Bible study and ministry of Highpoint Church, he specializes in making Biblical truths relevant. His energetic personality combined with his gift for applying Scripture in a creative context make him one of the most sought-after speakers for youth, college and young adult crowd. Andy resides in Memphis, TN with his wife Amanda and two sons Drew and Cooper. Adam Cunningham is a Christian artist with a heart for reaching people. Adam and his talented band lead worship at different venues weekly in the Nashville area, including the very popular "The Loop" which meets every Monday night at the Brentwood United Methodist Church at 7:30pm. Their style can range from Country to Hard Rock and every genre in between. To say the least, their energetic style of music is contageous and will have you singing and clapping right along as they lead in praise of our God.

The Relationships
Adventure Weekend offers plenty of time and fellowship opportunities for guests to strengthen friendships already built while beginning new relationships with other singles they meet during the event.

Where is the Event Held?
Beside the Blue Ridge Parkway, just minutes from Asheville, North Carolina rests the tranquil LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center. Rustic stone buildings and thick mountain laurel create a restful charm throughout the campus. Ridgecrest’s beautiful 1,300 acre campus climbs from valley to mountaintop offering elegant comfort in guest lodging and meeting space for over 2,000 people.  


The Adventure
Shoot the powerful rapids of the nearby French Broad River on an exciting whitewater raft or kayak excursion. Strap yourself into a harness and experience the thrill of rock climbing. Or wind along scenic mountain trails during a relaxing horseback ride. Guests can select from a
number of unique adventure opportunities that will keep them reliving memories for years to come.

It is important for all groups and individuals to know that each group/individual is responsible for contacting each vendor you plan to use before the event.  The earlier you contact each vendor listed below, the better opportunity you will have to get your date and time that best fits your schedule.  And, transportation to and from each vendor is the responsibility of the individual and/or group.  Ridgecrest does not provide transportation to vendor sites.  Call your chosen vendor early to reserve your spot.  To discover more options in the greater Asheville area, go to www.exploreasheville.com


Great Rate for On–Campus High Ropes Course and Laser Tag
Ed Barnes, Director of our Adventure Recreation Courses at Ridgecrest is offering Single adults a great deal for the high ropes course  and Laser Tag course.  This weekend, the cost is only $15 per person (that is a savings of $5 per person) for the each experience.  Saturday morning at 9:30am is for the Ropes Course only and is limited to 20 persons.  Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm it's Laser Tag time and this group is limited to 40 persons.  On Sunday, the times and activities are reversed.  At 9:30am it is Laser Tag, limited to the first 40 persons, and at 1:30pm it is the Ropes Course limited to the first 20 adults.  This is a great deal for a great experience.

Make your reservatioins in advance in to make sure you get  to experience these activities. Contact Ed Barnes and sign up for the day and time you want.  These sign ups are always on a first come first serve basis.  If there are spaces available at check -in, you may sign up but it is a first come, first serve sign up until all spaces are gone.  You can make your advanced reservation by contacting Ed Barnes either by email at ed.barnes@lifeway.com or you can call him at 1.828.669.4844

Off-Campus Adventure Options – Reservations & Prices
All adventure reservations are the responsibility of each individual or group leader.  Most all adventures have space limitations and will be filled on a first come – first served basis.  It is important to call each vendor as soon as you can and pay for your adventure to hold your spot.  Most adventures require you to provide your own transportation to the location.  All transportation is the responsibility of individual or group leaders.  All adventures are done at your own risk and LifeWay Conference Centers does not assume any responsibility for the conduct and actions of participants or vendors.  All maps and directions to adventure locations are available on their web sites or by asking as you make reservations.

Rock Climbing or White Water Rafting - Saturday Only

Adventure:  5 1/2 hours of rock climbing with guided service including lunch.

Whitewater Rafting

Nantahala Outdoor Center Adventure: French Broad Whitewater Rafting (Category II & III Rapids) Day & Times: Saturday and Sunday. Our trip will depart at 1:00 PM (we need to arrive at trading post by 12:30 PM for instructions and to sign wavier). Duration of Adventure: Approx 3 hours Drive Time from Ridgecrest: Approx 1 hour. Biltmore House

Biltmore EstatesA working estate that could sustain itself and benefit the community.  America's largest home.  Acres of garden, parklands and managed forests.  A country retreat for friends and family.  This was George Vanderbilt's vision for the Biltmore House more than 100 years ago, and it lives to this day.

To tour this incredible facility, you can call the Bilmore House at 1.877 BILTMORE. Individual tickets are $42 per person.  The gates open at 9am and close at 5pm. If you have a group of 20 or more, you can call their group reservations department at 1.866.851.4661.  The group rate is $36.00 per ticket, but you must have 20 persons and one person must make the call for the group.

If you purchase a tour ticket, either group or individual, there are many other 'add-on' options available to you.  For example:

Horseback Riding: $50 for a one hour ride around Biltmore.
Biking: Bike rentals are $20 for four hours.
Rafting:  $35 for the rafting trip.
Fly Fishing School: This two hour school is $90.00 for one or $150 for two.
Guided Hike: $15 per person for this 90 minute hike.
Carriage Rides: $35 per person
Again, these activities are 'add-on' to your regular priced admission ticket.

Horseback Riding

Day & Times: Saturday or Sunday.  Rides start at 10 AM, 12 and 2pm.
Duration of Adventure: 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour rides

Space Limitations: Twelve (12) per ride
Cost: $35 per person for the 1 hour ride, $60 per person for the two hour ride, $70 per person for the three hour ride.

Black Bear Adventure - Bike Ride

Hiking

Adventure: Hiking
Day & Times: Saturday or Sunday.
Duration of Adventure: 2 - 3 Hours depending on which trails you hike and your abilities.  There a variety of trails from nature walks & moderate to advanced trails.
Drive Time from Ridgecrest: N/A
Space Limitations: None
Cost: Free (you will need to pack a lunch and take drinking water)
How to make reservations: None needed.  There will be hike leaders for those who would like to go in a group.  Times for departure TBA.

Mountain Train Ride
Vendor: Great Smoky Mountains Railroad
Adventure: Nantahala Gorge Train Ride (Diesel Train)
Day & Times: Saturday Only.  Rides start at 10:25 AM
Duration of Adventure: 4 1⁄2  Hours (includes an hour layover at Nantahala Outdoor Center.  Note: There is a snack bar on the train and a restaurant at the NOC for you to purchase lunch).
Drive Time from Ridgecrest: Approx 2 Hours (Train Departs from Bryson City, NC)
Space Limitations: None (but reservations must be made at least two weeks prior)

Space Limitations: 20 persons per group per session for the Ropes Course and 40 persons per session for Laser Tag.
Cost: $15 per person
How to make reservations: To sign up ahead of time call Ed Barnes at 828-669-4844 or email him at ed.barnes@lifeway.com.  You can also sign-up on Friday, May 27th, between 3 – 5 pm or after the general session that night if there are still spaces available.

These low rates include three night's lodging at Ridgecrest's beautiful campus, six delicious meals beginning with dinner Friday and concluding with breakfast on Monday, and all program/materials fees. Lunches are on your own to eat when and where you desire based on your selected adventure option.
