Getting FAITH Rooted in Your Sunday School Strategy
In many churches, evangelism is missing from Sunday School ministry. Unfortunately, most Southern Baptist churches do not employ this great tool for witnessing and winning people to Christ.
FAITH Evangelism is one way to put Sunday School in a great position to train on-mission Christians to fulfill God’s purposes for their lives and for their churches. FAITH can put evangelism at the heart of your Sunday School strategy.
If you are successfully training your people to multiply themselves in evangelism, discipleship, and ministry, then do not tamper with what is working. However, if you sense that your people are not serving and living up to their God-given capacity, then think about employing FAITH as a strategy to help you help them.
FAITH is not an evangelism program; rather, it is a process that focuses on building people to their Great Commission capacity. Because it enables you to accomplish your Sunday School strategy, take time to evaluate its potential place by asking these questions about your Bible study ministry:
- Are we growing? Do we consistently start new Bible study units, train new leaders, and provide space for new people?
- Are we training people to share their faith? Do we enroll people in our Bible study ministry, win them to Christ, and assimilate them into our church?
-
Does our Bible study ministry feed our Discipleship ministry, and vice versa? Are we discipling people so that they are transformed believers, serving the Lord consistently and joyfully?
You need to honestly examine your commitment in these areas of work. Also assess your desire to see people trained; equipped; and motivated to learn, witness, and serve the Lord.
Set some time apart from your normal routine to seriously and intentionally think about your Bible study ministry. If you do not value Bible study enough to lead it, then nothing much can happen.
If you find that your commitment to training your people and having a great Bible study ministry is strong, then attend a FAITH training event. If you already have attended a FAITH Training Clinic, then lead your people to follow up on the challenges it presented.
Rooting FAITH in your Bible study ministry will bring untold rewards and benefits, not only to your church, but to the kingdom of God.
