Try It Out - Fuel Samples
Each volume of FUEL contains two DVDs with multimedia resources for twelve sessions. The video for each session is divided into three segments: “The Spark” (an opening attention-getter), “Fanning the Flame” (teen hosts discuss a topic leading into the Bible story), and “Combustion” (the Bible story is told). You have the option of playing all three uninterrupted or playing each segment individually.
.:: The Spark
“The Spark” uses drama, humor, music, or interviews to create interest in the issues addressed by each week’s Bible story. You may want to stop the DVD after viewing the Spark and ask for students’ reactions to what they’ve seen.
.:: Fanning the Flame
"Fanning the Flame" introduces the themes of that week’s session using two teen hosts and candid reactions by typical students to questions related to the session. If you want to pause the video after this segment, you could call on the students to answer the same questions that were asked on the video.
.:: Combustion
"Combustion" is the heart of the video — the actual Bible story told by an experienced communicator in an interesting setting that relates to the story. A listening guide for each story is provided on the accompanying CDs.
