Song Background: "We Will Remember"
"But our ancestors acted arrogantly; they became stiffnecked and did not listen to Your commands. They refused to listen and did not remember Your wonders You performed among them. They became stiff-necked and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt" (Neh. 9:16-17a).
I read this passage during a discouraging time in my life. When I looked at my circumstances on that day I couldn't see anything good, but was reminded to look back at all God had done for me. One thing is for sure, as Christians we have very short memories of God's goodness in our lives. So I purposely meditated on all God had done for me, and felt my faith begin to rise again. The song "We Will Remember" was inspired from this experience.
John 4:23 says, "But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him."
This verse says that God is seeking worshipers. So to quote Buddy Owens, "If you're looking for God but just can't seem to find Him, stop what you are doing and worship Him and He will come and find you!" When we worship, we open wide the gates of our hearts for God to come to us and fill us with all the blessings of His presence. As His presence fills us, we are reminded of His goodness, His faithfulness, and His love.
