Martha Lawley is an author, speaker, Bible study leader, and women's ministry consultant for the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention. She has a degree from Baylor Law School and was a practicing attorney for 14 years. It was during her law practice that she began researching Jewish wedding traditions.
Martha grew up in a small rural community in beautiful northern Wyoming. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at the age of 9. After receiving a degree in Political Science from University of Wyoming, Martha moved to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor University School of Law. Martha began her legal career in Houston specializing in business litigation. While in Houston she met and married the love of her life, Roger Lawley.
Martha has been blessed with many opportunities to lead women's conferences and retreats nationwide. She encourages women to wholeheartedly pursue the core spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, worship, using spiritual gifts in service, and personal evangelism and missions involvement. Martha's greatest desire is to provoke women to look at things differently - to step outside their usual ways of thinking so they may see things from God's perspective and allow Him to reorder their lives accordingly.
Martha and Roger have three wonderful children, Amber, Katie, and Taylor, as well as a great son-in-law, Keith, a precious grandson, Jared, and a new granddaughter on the way! Martha, Roger, and their two youngest children reside in Worland, Wyoming. Martha remains devoted to her local church where she and Roger teach a young adult Sunday School class. She also serves her home church as a Bible study leader and women's ministry team member.
